  1. I also was very excited about the moneyhounds until I fished them for the first time. Always sitting awkwardly and rolling all over the place. I threw mine out during the next offseason cleaning. I like all the top water rage products. The shad is my favorite followed by the toad and then the eeliminator. I also like to fish the smokin rooster as a top water when I want something very subtle.
  2. Away from the center is all brakes on, and that would explain the problem your having. Also when you fix it let me suggest not turning all breaks off. I've done it and it wasn't pretty. I fish with mags at 0 and 2 centrifugal brakes on.
  3. This is not hearsay it is 100% fact confirmed by bantum on the Tackletour "Product Support"forums.
  4. The chronarch e series and curado e series are 99.9999% the end real.
  5. Yes. I'm certainly no expert but I believe the x-fast is the preferred tip for drop shotting. That's what my Loomis drop shot rod has. I think the reason behind it is if the rod is bending at the thinnest part of the rod it has the least resistance so an investigating fish does not feel the rod before you feel the fish.
  6. I'm in New York and its always very fast.
  7. The extra fast tip is certainly not ideal for cranks. I would use that rod for light jigs or plastics and maybe spinnerbaits.
  8. I agree with you poprg. I hate seeing it. If I want an Orange belly ill buy a different pattern. If i want a bass i want it to look the way a real bass looks. Another one that bothers me is the red line at the gill or random red blotches.
  9. What action is the rod? I suppose its possible a moderate action could hurt hook setting ability on a technique like shakey head.
  10. I agree with marty, It's probably not the rods power. Maybe a dull hook? Maybe the plastic was bunching up on the hook? Do some more.trouble shooting before buying another rod. Unless you really want to of course.
  11. My zillion is by far my least favorite reel behind MGX obviously, but also pat.XT, team lews, old premier, tourney pro. I think I would take any $200-$250 reel from any manufacturer over a zillion. Everywhere i look there is people praising it and I just dont get it. It is the reason I will probably mever buy another daiwa except for maybe a steez if i can find one for under $400.
  12. Right now the lefty mgx's are only available through abu Japan. I heard they will be available in us market by the end of the year. Don't know if its true.
  13. X3 for not using jerkbaits in muddy water. As for the cranks I don't know which ones you are using but try something that has a wide wobble and displaces a lot a water. Also try something that makes a lot of noise.
  14. I had a little epoxy on guides before and it came off very easy with a knife. As long as its not bonded to the rest of the epoxy it should chip off the ceramic cleanly.
  15. I agree with most of this. It does have great knot strength and abrasion resistance. The part I don't agree with is the smooth and supple comment. It's so stiff when the coils come throughthe guides they cut a lot of distance off the cast. It's like trying to fish with a slinky. Spiderwire has better castability in my opinion.
  16. The entire line of abu rods are very good value for the money. If I was looking for a rod in that price range it would be a vendetta. If you have not read the Tackletour review give it a look. I think it will give you all the confidence you need to pull the trigger on one.
  17. I would assume e- bay. Most people say they have no problem with reels bought from ebay but I always opt for retail. It gives me piece of mind know I'm not gettin a second hand reel or a factory misfit. Lots of big retailers have sales pretty often. Wait for a sale and you can get it for close to $150
  18. The crucial uses different resins in the blank. They are just as important as the graphite itself. Using a lower quality resin make it heavier, less sensitive, and less balanced. They are far from being the same rod.
  19. The new crucials are very good rods for the price . However they are certainly not almost the same rod as the cumara.
  20. You may be able to find the XT for around the same price. If not the regular one is very nice the only thing i dont like is the weight.
  21. Even though I like grundleloves post and and his screenname. This is funny.
  22. Thanks ill give it a shot tonight, before I break my arm on my way to my bedroom.
  23. I spilled a bottle of it on my wood floor yesterday. It's more slippery than ice now. I've almost fallen more times than I can count. I hope it wears off quickly.
  24. So what your saying is it has the same negatives as every other braided line.
