Is there any reason the pflueger patriarch is not on that list? If not its definitely something to look into. I would take it well above anything on that list. In fact I already have twice.
I don't know if its the wrong thing. Maybe too much of the right thing. Anyway one of my friends who's house I frequent and always managed to leave my hat behind. After building up a nice collection. I decided it was time to take my hats home. As I was leaving I put them all on my head one on top of the other. Now I have 5-6 hats on my head and decided I was thirsty and stopped at a gas station for a drink. I forgot I had all the hats on went inside walked around grabbed a drink and a snack oblivious to the fact that i had a bunch of hats stacked on my head. When I got back in my car I looked in the rear view mirror saw the hats and started laughing histerically to my self I felt like such an idiot but it was funny as hell.
I have the 7 ft MH mod-fast rod. It's labeled as the trap caster. I believe they are refering to lipless cranks.
It will do everything you listed great aside from the worms but I think it could do a respectable job with the worms. I also use mine for jerkbaits and sammys and love it for those too.
Those pt tours are very good reels. They were recently discontinued which is why you can find them so cheap but they sold for $279 less than a year ago. Would be much better than the kvd in your original post.
I would say either a little more thumb or break. Maybe stopping the spool quicker when it his the water. Nothing to be worried about especially if this is your first season with baitcasters.
Just googled it. It's the JDM equivalent or the toro but a lot nicer looking in my opinion. I would be all over it if not for the weight. At over 10 oz I can't see my self ever buying one.
1/2 oz revenge bluegill with gold tandem blades is my single favorite spinnerbait. I always stick with the 1/2 oz for me its perfect to use all the time. Heavy enough to slow roll on the bottom or burn it light enough wake it and everything in between.
When I went to my local expo in march both the rep at the shimano booth and the Loomis booth told me they were unveiling a new cumara at icast. I don't know if its true but it does make sense now that they wre on sale everywhere.
I also hate fishing in the wind. Most of my fishing is done on small john boats on reservoirs that don't allow motors. Anything over 10 mph and it seems I do more rowing than fishing.
