  1. Lightly used could pass as new. Comes with box, cover and papers. $350 Shipped. Can text (914)787-9735 with any questions.
  2. Has been used but is in mint condition $400 Shipped can text (914)787-9735 with any questions.
  3. Has anyone heard anything definitive about the future of Revenge Baits? I use a lot of their products and would hate if they were finished.
  4. I want to buy a Steez A for deep cranking but I am stuck between the 5.3 and 6.3 gear ratio. I’ll be using cranks as large as the Big M 7.0. I would like more IPT than the 22” the 5.3 offers but I am concerned about cranking power if I go with the 6.3. I would like to hear everyone’s general thoughts about this. I would also like to hear if anyone has used the 6.3 Steez A for big deep cranks.
  5. Zoom super fluke is one of my favorite baits. Catch a ton of fish on them every year but I’ve had my fair share of issues with them. They are at the cheaper end of the spectrum as far as baits go I’m sure that plays a role. Personally I’d be fine paying a little more per pack for a more consistent product.
  6. I’ve bought two reels from Japan during this whole ordeal. One as recently as last week. Both shipped and received as usual and being from NY both obviously came through NY customs. Of course things could always change and the virus has really exploded here the past couple weeks, so you really never know.
  7. Don’t write off the Exsence because of the 3000 label. It is very much in line with what most would expect out of a typical bass reel. Even regarding spool size the 3000 Exsence has a capacity of 8/110 the Stradic has a capacity of 8/140. Personally I don’t understand where the 3000 label comes from, what I do know is it’s a very nice reel and would definitely recommend it.
  8. Was just about to post the same thing. But I like japanlureshop.com better. Got a Bantam for $288 with shipping and PayPal exchange rate.
  9. Don’t have the current model but I use the original JDM version for jerkbaits and love it. Have had good hook up ratio and don’t have any troubles with handle length.
  10. I have since sold all my Dobyn's rods, but have owned 743,744,745 and 745HP. All balanced well and we're very comfortable to fish. If you want the extra length I don't think you will be disappointed by balance.
  11. Same here. Saw on TT a few people mention this so opened mine and it was dry.
  12. What other issues are you hearing about? I have some interest in the regular Steez TW and would assume these issues would carry over.
  13. If you really want to get the best rod possible for your money, I would say don't be afraid to buy used. I have gotten some great deals personally and have seen many more I missed out on. Over the the winter I got a Steez XT rod for $160 and I received it looking brand new, just one example. The Poison Adrena rods can found in your range often and retail for $400, they also fish like a $400 rod. Just make sure the guy seems trustworthy and use PayPal. I've become a big fan of the buy/sell forums. Honestly this site doesn't seem to have as much as others. Not sure if we're supposed to mention them but you probably know them already anyway.
  14. No mine looks very nice, and still does after using it for two seasons. I do make a conscious effort to take good care of my gear though.
  15. I have one and it is probably my favorite reel. If you are talking about the MGL metanium I have one of those as well. When it comes to pure casting distance the metanium is the better performer. The Steez wins every other category though, in my opinion. Comfort, smoothe retrieve ease of use and especially looks/cool factor.
  16. If the metanium is not up to your expectations ,wouldn't it make more sense to get a new reel? I don't really get the logic behind, "my reel is broken, so I'll fix it by getting a new rod".
  17. Have you given any consideration to the Bandersnatch from the JDM Destroyer series. It has very similar specs to the chimaera. When I found out my pre-order for the chimaera wouldn't be fulfilled with the first shipment I personally found the specs close enough to pay a little extra and went with the Bandersnatch. It's a very nice rod. I use it for spinnerbaits most but I could see it being used for jigs and t rigs as well.
  18. It seems almost blasphemous to say anything is a good as the NRX in terms of sensitivity. I will say though, it's certainly close and won't leave you wanting more. When it comes to balance and overall comfort the Destroyer wins by a landslide. The 894 always felt a little clumsy to me and is the rod I replaced with the Destroyer. I've never fished the 895 but the Valdivia has more power than the 894.
  19. Unfortunately I don't have either of the models you listed, but I do have the Valdivia. Its a great rod. Very sensitive well balanced and of course looks great. There has been lots of positive feedback on these rods, including the models you asked about. I think a good way to sum up my thoughts on this rod is, I sold an NRX to fund this rod and I'm completely happy with my decision. No regrets at all.
  20. You are correct about the X-Fast being better suited for jigs and t-rigs. It should also be good for just about any single hook application. As for another combo. You seem to be set on the CT in another gear ratio, you're on the right track here as well. I think a good idea would be a CT in 8.1 ratio and pair this reel with your existing rod. The extra IPT will be a good idea for this combo. I would then use the current 6.3 and pair it with a rod more suited to moving baits, maybe a mod-fast action. This will give you a good start to cover just about anything you need.
  21. Finally got this out, unfortunately it was a very unsuccessful first mission. 0 fish and 1 lost swimbait equals big disappointment. Still fun though, with this combo.
  22. Good video and nice combos. The best part though, the Vikings helmet in the back. SKOL!!!!
  23. The link for Japan tackle actually states "not for salt water use". Then gives directions for care with brackish water. Comes off a bit confusing. Either way. I would never bring any of my magnesium framed reels anywhere near salt water, regardless of what the specs say. If you're going to be using it in salt I think it's an easy decision to go with the Steez A.
  24. I love dragging a football head along rocky bottoms. Feeling all sorts of stuff going on down there, then bam, fish on.
  25. I use revenge heads and tie my own skirts. Not only are they very productive but the wind up costing under $2 a piece. Which is a good thing considering the rate I lose them.
