  1. IMO Canoe. The Native Ultimate is the only "kayak" that I enjoyed paddling.
  2. Excellent!! Love any fish on the fly.
  3. Price's aren't changing my fishing locations at all. $2 or $5 I'm still going to the lakes I want and hunting the area's I want. You only live once. Just tighten the budget and you'll be fine.
  4. Plastics will NEVER get banned. Huge difference between lead and soft plastics.........as of now.
  5. I'm pretty sure all soft plastics decompose. I don't know the timeframe but i'd be surprised if they didn't. Maybe i'll take a senko and leave it in water and find out.
  6. IMO leave the crankbaits at home. As mentioned the Mepps and panther martin's are great lure's. I just stumbled upon "Joe's Flies" which is a fly attached to an inline spinner, so far that works great. I personally have a "tried and true" list that include a Mepps Aglia (silver), Panther Martin rainbow trout color with a rooster tail, williams wobbler (gold/silver), phoebe (gold), fish creek spinner (gold with orange beads), a mepps lone wolf (pretty sure that the name of it), and trout magnets in pink and orange.
  7. Agreed!
  8. I don't fish ONLY during lunar phases but I'm d**n sure i'm in the water or in the woods at least a day before, on, and after a new or full moon. FROM MY EXPERIENCES the results are better in that time frame. I'm 100% a believer.
  9. For me it's a 6 or 7. I've got a humminbird and it's great for structures, depth, water temps, and drop offs.
  10. The $1.00 Walmart Chartreuse spinnerbait catches more fish for me then any other crankbait or spinnerbait.
  11. I love my baitcasters. I got a 3 rod setup I take with me. 2 baitcasters and 1 spinning. I just love fishing with the baitcaster. If it's setup right you shouldn't have any bird's nests.
  12. Should be started in most waters here in MA. Haven't been out in the AM or late PM to really give them a run. I'll do that later this week.
  13. I fish docks and banks with a mepps silver little wolf or a grub with a spinnerbait blade. Mepps Aglia's are another spinner I use.
  14. I haven't fished out that way yet, mainly doing the chicopee river.
  15. Golf course ponds are GREAT fishing holes but as mentioned they mostly all prohibit fishing. I've had mixed results asking for permission.
  16. As mentioned this is a loaded question. A lot will come into play (weather, season, structure, etc..) Midday try the just outside the weedlines. There are usually a few bass waiting to pounce on something from the weeds.
  17. Sounds like a great idea. I'd probably choose a spinnerbait or jig or maybe a Rat L Trap. I'd like to say a senko but I think if you hooked up a few fish it would be destroyed.
  18. I throw black at night. During the day I like chartreuse and earthy tones (such as green pumpkin)
  19. Thanks to all.
  20. I've had more luck with smallies and grubs then lmb's. Grubs just flat out catch fish and get no respect, which is fine. I love grub trailer's on a jig or spinnerbait.
  21. High Pressure (30.50 +) = Clear Skies = Fishing Medium to Slow = Fish slowly in deeper water or near cover. Medium Pressure (29.70 – 30.40) = Fair Weather = Normal Fishing = Test lures, baits, and techniques to see what works. Low Pressure (29.60 -) = Cloudy/Rainy Weather = Fishing Slows = Fish slowly in deeper water or near cover. Rising Pressure = Improving Weather = Fish Slightly Active = Fish slowly in deeper water or near cover. Stable Pressure = Fair Weather = Normal Fishing = Best time to test lures, baits, and techniques to see what works. Falling Pressure = Degrading Weather = Best Fishing = The fish will attack anything you throw at them. (well, pretty much)
  22. Black always at night. Colorado blade and black is what I use.
  23. My advice would be to find small hidden ponds off the beaten path and try fishing those. With little pressure and a smaller body of water you can work more of the water.
  24. People who park blocking or partially blocking a boat launch.
  25. Hello all. New guy here from Western Mass. Love to fish, hike, hunt, and camp.
