  1. is it a buddy tourney on individual i dont fish jacomo much anymore but would be interested in fishing as a co-angler if possible pm me with some info and a contact number if you need a co-angler
  2. i use devcon 2 ton 30 minute epoxy on my lures as do quite a few other members some say thin it down with alcohol but i mix and brush and it seems to work fine

  5. im a lefty and fish all right handed reels feel more comfortable controlling rod and bait with left hand and as stated above you dont need to switch hands before and after the cast so you get a few more presentations in during the course of a day
  6. me as well ive yet to catch a fish on either technique so finesse will get alot of attention this year im just gonna have to leave all the other baits at home and really focus on the post frontal days
  7. in Bill Siemantel's book the Big Bass Zone he states that he uses mono in most cases however he also says that braid would be considered for trolling or long lining or other non-casting presentations his new site thebbz.com is under construction right now but when its back up and running you should check it out very informative he is one of the big bait gurus also he uses a large snap swivel on his big baits which i do as well ive tried it tied direct but with the swivel you get a better swimming/hunting action out of the bait and the swivel doesnt seem to discourage the fish from eating those baits
  8. i use 17lb maxima mono for my 4-6 inch swimbaits i tried braid when i first started fishing them but had a tendency to pull the bait away from the fish the stretch helps me get a better hook-up jmho
  9. rapala x-rap xr10 silver/black cordell super spot in green firetiger old school pre-rapala wiggle warts if you can find em cheap i got lucky last summer and found a dozen at a garage sale for 2.50 a piece including 2 phantom brown craws... score!!!

  13. i got this book 2 years ago and have read it 3 times excellent book for sure try stitching it works like a charm
  14. harbor freight if you have one nearby has a nifty little gator clip vise called helping hands for 3.00 that will help you out
  15. my son doesnt care to fish neither do my older nephews but my youngest 2 nephews (8 and 11) are addicts they cant wait for saturdays during the summer to go hit the lake it doesnt matter what we are catching theyre all about it

  17. yup i have a moisture trap on my compressor those are some good looking gills youve done there hopefully i can get similar results here in a short while ive been playing on some paper doing lines sqigglies dots and such it seems that the only thing im having real problems with so far is making a straight line i always seem to have a little wiggle to em hopefully with some more practice i can get them down any tips thanks to all
  18. i picked up the paasche millenium yesterday and a hose already had an air source also got some createx acrylics and 2-ton 30 min epoxy so now starts the learning curve on using the airbrush being a house painter should hopefully speed up the process i prepped and primed some baits last nite now looking at different patterns trying to figure out which one to do first my next question is what type of paints do you guys use i picked up the createx opaque primary set a few transparents (green and brown) and a pearlized silver any other tips would be greatly appreciated

  21. what airbrush kits do you use? im thinking about giving it a try. Just want some ideas on a kit that is reliable. thanks in advance for your responses
  22. im a lefty and fish rigth handed reels so after a cast i dont have to switch hands to begin my retrieve i read an article years ago cant remember which mag that said you average an extra hundred or so casts a day over someone that has to switch hands to start a retrieve just my 2 cents
  23. i have the pitchin stick its was also tip heavy but a little weight on the butt end and its good to go i plan on getting a few more in the near future
  24. im gonna give floro a go this year on my crankbait rod any suggestions on brand im thinking berkley 100% floro or xps in 10lb
  25. ive got a couple quantum energy reels that i bought in 99 and with a cleaning and lube job at the beginning of every season they still work as well as the day i bought them even have a 40.00 cx 200 combo from wal mart from around 2000 that i still use every year for my buzzbaits and its a little champ so you never know until you get it on the water i love my quantums and am loyal to the brand as i grew up fishing zebco 33 reels that my grand dad passed down to my dad just my 2 cents
