  1. Today i went with my soon to this pond near house, where we usually take several basses in the 2-4 lb range and is very fun to fish, but today i got the best so far here, I was using a Zoom worm and maybe 6 feet from the bank i got this hit, what a nice battle! I managed to get it to the bank and weight it it was 6.1 lb, I'm so happy! My kid got so excited to see that big fish! Just a great day, we also got the usual 2 or 3 lb ones total we catched 6 basses and 10 bluegills in 1 1/2 hours. I released it at the same place where I got it.
  2. Thanks! This forum is just amazing!
  3. Thanks for your answers, I have another question: where can I find listings of used boats in central Florida? Web sites?
  4. Just a question, I'm very low on budget for a boat and was thinking about a Jon Boat maybe a tracker topper 1436 and a trolling motor they are on sale at my local BPS, just for a start and to be able to fish small lakes, maybe later I'll buy a small outboard for it. Is this ok? or is better to wait and get some used stuff? Thanks Armando
  5. At this time I'm a bank fisherman, still dont have a boat... I dont mind people that approach you asking if you got something or interested in a good chat but if I'm there before you, don't cast close to me i will get very mad, I don't do that to other fishermen and as I respect other I expect others respect me... Regarding your situation for sure i would load my bigger crankbait and then cast it on his boat and the put a big smile and say OOPPPS SORRY I'M NEW ON THIS (MORE SMILE AND MORE OPPS)........ my 2 ¢
  6. Thank you for your answers! Nice! i believed it was a 4 4.5 pounder, it was funny because I have a lot of experience fishing carps and saltwater fishing but was my first Bass focused fishing. I'm not from US and have been here for a couple of months only, but i love fishing and all the ponds and lakes in Orlando area just were screaming come on its time to start fishing, so i found this site and did a lot of reading about Bass (sometimes till 4 AM), then i decided to go to BPS and get into some cheap gear to start so i decided to go on the Shakespeare Catch More Bass combo (sorry if its an insult for the pros round here) that for 24 bucks given me a tackle box and a nice spinning rod and a not too bad reel and also purchased some others bait, got a Cars rod for my son (hes 3 1/2 years only and so far he only uses the plastic wheel that comes with the combo and hes getting nice casts), and that Saturday we started fishing cranckbaits around the Lilly pads and nothing, then i tried to rig a worm and didn't went good and my son started to get annoyed and i saw some splashes during the time i was fishing i believed they were some kind of sunfish feeding so i decided to go on a cricket floater popper just to catch some and show to my son, in fact in my first cast i got a nice bluegill he got excited screaming "finally we got one fish, we are not that bad fishing".... then i casted the popper into the lillypads and was like an explosion 3 or 4 missed in one cast.... then i started catching some small basses, crappies and bluegills and we have a fish identification chart an my son was finding each one it was just fantastic, then we move like 100 ft to another lilipad and on my first cast there, was amazing to see this fish engulfing the popper! it give some fight and was very surprised of the size because the pond is very small, i was so excited that forgot to take more pictures just that with my son, then we released it and went home for lunch.... But the Bass bug is now inside of me..... I cant stop thinking in go fishing..... Sorry for the misspelling i can have English is not my mother language, I'm Italian.... Cheers
  7. Hi, I'm new to the Bass fishing and the first day I went fishing for Bass in my neighborhood pond two weeks ago I caught this beauty! (see attached photo I think beginners luck blessed me), but i didn't have any scale or measuring tape, using your experience can you know aprox the weight of the fish? I released and will try to catch it another day now that y tackle box is more complete . This day i got 6 nice bass on topwater and 2 or 3 nice bluegill in 1 hour fishing at 11 AM. Cheers Armando
  8. Hi! I just moved to Orlando, FL i used to fish saltwater in the Caribbean and freshwater in Italy (mostly carp and black bass). I have started fishing around Lake Nona area for Bass and I'm introducing my little boy into fishing. So far I have fished some neighborhood lakes, and once in the Lake Hart channel. Got into here finding more info in largemouth, and this site is just awesome! Best Regards Armando
