  1. Thanks for all of the replies and ideas guys, I appreciate it. I'll figure something out! Merry Christmas to everyone!
  2. Okay guys, I've been toying around with different configurations and ways to store my glide baits and bigger baits together but can't find a proper bag/box/binder , whatever. I thought there used to be some decent swimbait storage containers on TW but I can't find what I used to see. Is there just nothing available that has large enough spaces for all of these baits? I don't want to throw them together or scratch up my hard baits either. Would a Worm Binder with the plastic bags do the trick? To me it looks like the best option.... What do you guys use?
  3. I recommend the Mattlures baby bass series and the 4 inch back hook ospreys. Both produce well and cast like a bullet on regular bass gear. Nice little swimbaits and they won't break the bank.
  4. Scorpion 1000 4x4...awesome reel.
  5. Just bought the 8' Swimbait rod and the 7' Mag MH bass rod..104 ,2nd day air ...lol..crazy cheap
  6. X2 - I have one on the way to me now. The Bullshooter 160 is sweet but it's not small. The Bullshooter Jr. is a bit more compact which is what has me excited about it. Check out the Imakatsu Gill Roid too. Ebay has some decent deals, you just have to jump on them. The Gantarel from Jackall looks pretty sweet and not as expensive as these other baits mentioned. Check out the G2 Shellcracker, I think some are still available. Very cool bait and won't break the bank either. Be sure you have a proper rod to throw some of the bigger baits, the shellcracker won't require anything beyond regular bass rods. Good luck and have fun!!
  7. I can only get them at Walmart here and they're 5.96. They only have a few colors but fortunately white and white/chart are two of them. That's what I buy! Love me some War Eagle!
  8. Time to get Sirius man! Stop messing around. See what I did there ...ha. Jam On , station 29
  9. I set mine around 8.5 I think and it threw as far as I wanted to which was very far. No backlashes for me at that setting with 12# mono. Loved my Type R and standard Tatulas but I'm back to Shimano only for now. I always end up there but I loved my Type R and might allow another to be the exception to my Shimano rule this spring. I really like that reel.
  10. For me I really love the ease of use. Shimano has always been less touchy save a few exceptions in my experience. I also love the quality look and feel of Shimano's save a few exceptions. I've always thought Curado's were very smooth. I am not a big fan of the 200I series and much prefer the D and E series to any Curado ever made before or after. I do not like the braking system on the I series, that's the only gripe for me. I thought it was pretty sweet otherwise. My Metanium and Chronarchs are smoother.
  11. For me it's just catching fish consistently and especially on big water. Fishing local tourney's it's always demoralizing coming back to the ramp and having a tough night when other boats have 5 good one's and then you hear they caught a bunch...here we were lucky to catch a few all night. Frustrating but then again I do know those guys have brush and other spots they know that consistently hold fish. I have only been in one tournament with a guy who had a ton of brush piles and knew exactly where they were. Surprise, I caught fish! Also, when I still had my boat I did have memory of where a few of those piles were and could always go back there and catch fish on those spots. So, the most exciting thing for me or was the most exciting was when I had my own boat and had the freedom to go when I wanted to go. Nothing is better than being able to say, yep, I'm going...hook up the boat and go...best feeling in fishing for me!!
  12. Poison Adrena 7' H Swimbait rod, Shimano Scorpion 1500XT with 14lb Sufix Siege clear. Works very well with I-Slide 135, S-Waver 168's, 4 inch Ospreys, Mattlures Baby Bass, Osprey Dinks, smaller wakebaits, etc
  13. Yeah, it's ridiculous how many hunting shows are on all day long...really? If I get up on Saturday at 7:00 am I might catch one or two fishing shows but then that's it...on with the rest of the long day with the back to back hunting shows. I don't want to watch a guy sitting in a tree stand whispering to me for 30 minutes....snooze fest. "yeah, yeah...there he is...he's coming up the tree line ..that's the one that's been peeing here for two weeks...oh he's big...i don't have a clear shot...let's break for commercial guys...thrilling tv! I don't hunt and don't like it, hence my sarcasm.
  14. Black grape, junebug, pumpkin/chart tail, black with blue tail, green pumpkin, red shad
  15. Spinnerbait for me. I will catch a fish on a spinnerbait, guaranteed. Jig and pig is a close second.
  16. If you sign up with American Legacy I believe they give you $25 toward a purchase. You might be able to apply this to your order if you get it from them. When I signed up that wasn't available. I keep trying to re-sign up! LOL.
  17. I don't think you need 20# line for a 6 inch Hudd but you can use anything you feel comfortable with. I use 14#-17# . I've snapped off several Hudds in the past but it was due to me not doing a re-tie often enough. That doesn't sound like the problem you had of course, just bad luck. I've been using 17# Shooter for Hudds this year and it's worked well, no issues at all. P-Line is another good choice and won't break the bank.
  18. Check out the Dobyns Fury 795, should be a good rod for you. It's probably even more versatile than that also. For $120 I can't think of a better one.
  19. I thought this bait looked pretty awesome too. I do love the Brown Trout pattern, looks amazing. I'd like to hear about the performance of this bait as well.
  20. If this is a bait you like then please disregard but after buying a couple of these and seeing their action I gave them away. Others may have higher opinions and better experiences but I wasn't impressed at all. I would recommend the Mattlures Baby Bass series or the Huddleston Shad over these. Both have much better action from my experience.
  21. I can tell you that I've spent up to $15 bucks on a single spinnerbait (remorse followed) but the reason I now exclusively fish War Eagle is because the blades spin for days right out of the package, every time. They aren't fancy baits in any respect but the skirts, blades, and hooks are top notch. War Eagle has served me very well. I can't say enough good things about them. I pay $5.96 at Walmart for them as that's the only local place here that carries them now. Sportsmans, Gander, and Dicks do not carry them for some odd reason.
  22. Belgian and Sour Ales, Concerts, and Billiards...I still buy fishing stuff all winter long and get prepped for our first spring smallie trip way in advance.
  23. X2 ! I just picked up the 7"11 H "A" series rod and it's pretty sweet. I got it for $109 at Sportsmans Warehouse. Very nice rod! So the XH would be a great choice for your 8" Hudds.
  24. Yeah, placed two TW orders and both are delayed. SPRO Rats (40's) , Mattlures Baby Bass, Imakatsu Bassroid, and a few other things.
  25. To add to this. I think one should be allowed to own and possess a firearm once proven they are capable of handling one which means they can shoot accurately, know the law backwards and forwards, always have their license on them, psych evaluations are clean , know the weapon inside and out, etc. It's not a toy or an accessory folks. One shouldn't buy a purple gun because it's cute and matches their purse... The problem with "rights" is it gives license to any common idiot that wants one because it's their "right". " If you can have one so can I " is the sad mentality and a sad commentary on our society today. I won't go on because anything more would be considered political here. Agree or disagree, this is my opinion.
