  1. Just a question here about the Ultracast Fluoro.....I've heard good things about this line and I'm planning on using it for deep cranks.....Anyone used it or familiar at all? I'm open to recommendations guys. I've been using the SPiderwire EZ Mono for a long time and Ive been very pleased with the casting and durability of it...... Of course it's considerably cheaper than the Fluoro...... Anyone else use the EZ Mono?
  2. Okay guys, you may laugh but I saw the Berkley Line Spooling Station for $30..... I don't wanna spend $30 on something I've never had and never used and got by without until now..... However... Has anyone come up with a way or device that works just as well? Thanks
  3. I had a Mojo Swimbait rod which I gladly sold after one season. I was not impressed at all. It was heavy and just didn't feel right in my hands. I have a Mattlures Swimbait rod now and I love it. As far as crankbait rods go I still haven't decided. I'm trying out an Allstar 7'2 TAS866CB for free so why not.....I still think I may go with the Bass Pro rod. I'm also looking hard at that Boyd Duckett 7'11 Microguide cranking rod.....it's light as a feather too! $179 though??? Wow.
  4. I had picked up this reel for using on my swimbait rod but now that I've changed to my Citica 200DSV I've decided to sell or trade this one....anyone who wants a brand new reel that's sweet, light, and tough...I'll make you a deal. There is nothing wrong with it.....just had it set too loose......It's new, with box, papers. I've taken only a few casts with it..... Check the flea market forum for details
  5. Thanks, you're right. I discovered that it I had it set too loose.......lol. I did spool with it with 10 lb test which I suppose is too small. So, I had both things wrong. It's fine now but it's got me thinking I want to find another reel that will be just as small but will also handle smaller diameter line. Otherwise it's super sweet. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, just got a new Daiwa Coastal and I love it. However, I just spooled it up to take a cast or two and twice now the line is getting inbetween the left side of the spool and the reel........I'm not happy obviously. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to fix it or should I just send it back? Thanks......
  7. I agree about the President and Sahara. The other one you may want to check out is the Daiwa Exceler 2500...it's a pretty sweet little reel for the money
  8. I like those Avid rods but I'm not looking to spend close to $200. I wish I could at the moment but it's just not possible. They are sweet though!
  9. Are you looking to unload it?
  10. You must like them quite a bit then. They sound like winners to me.
  11. Well, I wouldn't say I'm tight but I do like a bargain I'm only as tight as my paycheck says I have to be! lol. I do like to do a lot of cranking. I'm still deciding but it seems almost everyone likes these sticks from bass pro. Thanks
  12. I'm inclined to agree.....and so is my wallet! I'm still open to opinions but I think this is probably gonna be the one. If only I could get it with free shipping! That would be a deal indeed.
  13. In the near future I'm going to buy another rod for deep cranks. I'm just wanting a few opinions. I'm considering a Shimano Crucial but I don't see it in 7' 6 MH , I do see they have a 7'2 and 7'11. I want something in the 7'2 to 7'6 so that could work fine.... However I also like those new Bass Pro Cranking rods for the price and they do have a 7'6 MH as well as a price tag that is well below that of the Shimano. I do have and have had bass pro rods and like them quite a bit. I guess my question is about the Shimano being worth that much more than the Bass Pro Rod cosidering it's pretty much double the price..... Thanks guys!
  14. Great info everyone. I appreciate it. I'm adding it to my arsenal for sure. I look forward to playing around with it over the weekend. I appreciate the information and opinions from everyone on this site. It's truly the best bass fishing site ever created (in my opinion. Thanks guys!
  15. I did own a Summit at one point but I never could get a lot of distance out of it. Maybe I never dialed it in correctly but for the money I thought it was a let down. I've heard a lot of good things about the Trion so I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Can't beat a trade! If I don't like it I'm sure someone will pick it up from me!
  16. That's good to know! I'm getting a Curado 200 DPV for my deep cranking so I suppose I will use the Trion for squarebills. Thanks for the info. I tell you I'm tempted to go back to Ardent for my deep cranks but I think that Curado is going to be a sweet one!
  17. I'm trading him one of my old Predator shafts from my playing cue. I have too many shafts right now as it is and I need another reel so I figured why not!
  18. Anyone have an opinion on this reel? I'm trading with a buddy of mine that has one but it's new, in box so I haven't had a chance to cast it of course. Just wondering about castability, ease of setting it up correctly....etc..... any opinions welcome! Thanks!
  19. That's not a bad idea....certainly adds versatility....Is is the new Crankin stick? I'm looking to get one of those to pair up with Curado 200DPV for deep cranks....maybe I'll get the 7' MH to throw spinnerbaits as well....it's nice to get two rods for the price of one and that's about the truth with the bass pro stuff. Thanks for the input!
  20. I'm looking around at Spinnerbait rods and can't decide which way to go. I was trying to find a Kistler Argon spinnerbait rod but those seem to have vanished. I've not fished with one but it looks like a nice rod. Also looking at a Teal Allstar 6'8 spinnerbait rod that has a nice price tag......Looks like a decent rod! Any suggestions folks? FYI: I'm not going to spend a ton on one but I want a nice rod.....I've been using a 7 M' XPS rod that's been pretty great but I want to start using it for buzzbaits only..... Don't hesitate to send me an offer if any of you are looking to unload a rod! Thanks!
  21. I always wondered if American Rodsmiths was making their rods.....My titanium spinning rod from Gander looked a lot like my AR Cranking rod..... Interesting
  22. I've played around with some of the lower end daiwa's and can't say I'm in love with them but this reel may be perfect for you considering the fact that you own two already. You might check out that new Lew's crankbait reel. I've heard great things about it and it's around $90 brand new. I've held it in my hands and it seems like a quality reel for that price. It's very low profile and it's super light which is a huge plus if you're spending a long day/night cranking.
  23. Thanks for the reply. I had a Cardiff and liked it before. My favorite swimbaiting reel was the Abu Inshore but I'm just not spending that kind of money right now for such a specific use. I just need one that does the job without breaking the bank. Thanks again!
  24. Okay, I give up on having to spend a ton on a swimbait reel ....I need some opinions before I make my purchase.... Shimano Cardiff 300 or Daiwa Coastal.... Cardiff is going to cost me around $95 and the Daiwa is around $125..... WHICH ONE GUYS? Thanks...
