  1. I didn't know there were ANY decent sales anymore....I keep looking for one though...the eternal optimist...ha!
  2. Awesome guys, this is a big help...I think it looks like the 683 is the deal....I will pick one up!
  3. Yeah, I'd be careful when trying to pitch that story to the wife.... LOL
  4. I'm looking at picking up a Powell Max or Endurance but I can't seem to find the right one for spinnerbaits....I want one that's under 7 feet, and I don't want a MH rod...I'm looking for around 6'8-6'9 M, XF or F.... What model would this be? If there is one that's more appropriate let me know as far as specs are concerned. Thanks!
  5. yes, please guys, go ahead and start selling those "white curados" at rock bottom prices...If I have to take them off your hands I'll do it. I feel it's my civic duty I now own some Chronarch E's along with the Curado E's and I can say without a doubt that the Chronarch just has that little of bit of something special that the Curado doesn't have....and it's not the paint job There's a difference guys. As far as the Chronarch getting back up there in price, oh well, I guess I'll stick with the white ones! How long before the average Joe is priced out of this Shimano game....I just got two Curado G's from JB and I can say they are great!! I don't know what the fuss is about....
  6. Powell from Fish Ranger....a steal!!
  7. My I met some of the elite pros here in Virginia when they fished the Blue Ridge Brawl at SML. Some had been knocked out, some just finished for the day, some getting ready...just met them at all stages of the tournament and I think it boils down to "who" that "person" is that determines how happy they are to see you or reception you get. I think most of those guys understand that it isn't often we as anglers and fans actually get to see these guys in person so it they know how much it means to us. I don't believe in trying to borrow them for half an hour and wouldn't dream of it but if they blow you off it's not because they had a "tough" day on the water....I'd say they're just an egomaniacal jerk.. I've met both types, good people and jerks in both fishing and pool....It's just "who" they are IMO. Tough day on the water?! I know it's work guys and I respect them but I'd rather do that than spreadsheets all day....(which i do)...and no, I wouldn't be happy to see you after 10 hours IN THE OFFICE!! LOL......
  8. I'm curious to know this..Out of the box, a new Chronarch 200E vs any Chronarch before it....which casts further? I thought my Curado E's way outmatched my Curado D's....I don't own any old Chronarchs but they look nice. I can't see paying the same price or more for a Chronarch 100B when I can get a new one, though I know materials are different and they look different....the new ones are sweet in my book...
  9. Those Citica E's are great reels. I had them and loved them. I've since gotten some Chronarch E's so obviously I'm very happy and couldn't go back but the Citicas were darn close to a Curado for sure. These upgrades should be sweet.
  10. Powell is great. I love their rods, period. I may get that 804 Endurance for cranks instead of the Lamiglas...I had the Powell 7'11 Composite deep cranking rod that TW sells exclusively and wish I hadn't sold it. I can get that Endurance a lot cheaper right now though and I think it will do the job well.....should throw some swimbaits too....I just got an 8 foot swimbait rod recently though so I have swimbaits covered! lol.
  11. Thanks for the replies guys, this is helpful. I just want to be sure I'm picking up the correct rod when I decide to do it...hopefully soon. Spent so much lately and owe jb for a reel at the end of the week too I would prefer a longer rod than the 7' version but I think it will work well enough for deep cranks. I just like a longer rod for launching cranks... I wish I had bid on the 7'6 that was on Ebay a while back....that was ideal for me.
  12. I've been wanting the Skeete Reese version of this rod (the famous yellow rod)...there's a guy who makes these custom that I found on Ebay, makes them with micro guides and appears to be the same blank.....looks like a great rod...price is good too. However, does Lamiglas make one now that compares or is the same version of this rod, just updated? I saw the Pro X rod on TW but it's $199...I'll buy a Powell before I spend $200.... Thanks!
  13. I love my new Kistler rods. It's good to know they back them up with excellent customer service. It's a great product IMO! I'm getting more when I can.
  14. Powell Max or Endurance, Kistler Helium( I just picked up a couple for 114, new), and if you want Quantum, I would get that 7 M Smoke....that's a nice rod.
  15. Revo S, last years model (the silver one) on Ebay...$99...retailed for $129. Awesome little reel. New, in box...just got one a few weeks back. This will be the third one I've owned and I love em'. I am really a Shimano guy but I have a soft spot for this particular reel. It's pretty sweet!
  16. Yeah, these specs ( 7' MH F 1/4-3/4 oz baits) .. rods seem to be the ticket for me. It has plenty of back bone and not too stiff I find. The tip is usually not too fast..just soft enough but not too soft....this could be a very good choice for you.
  17. If it doesn't have to be Quantum I'd get a Chronarch or Curado 200E 5.....can't be beat.
  18. Awesome reels! Congrats! I just got a 50E and a 200E recently. Very pleased !
  19. You can't go wrong with either...jbsoonerfan is selling some Curado G's for about $105 each on the fleamarket..I just bought a Chronarch 50E from him...I would jump on those Curados...sweet deal. He had another Chronarch 50E too...and 200E7 ....he's great to deal with,
  20. Ha! I hear that! I tell you, I've been so impressed with the S...I'm sure that STX is very sweet. I may get one but I'm getting some Chronarchs so I'm going in that direction for now. I've always been into Curados and Citicas so I'm sure I'll be pleased. Still keeping my Revo S though..might get another at the price I got it for. Worth every dime!
  21. I just got another Revo S, the older silver version...for $99...and it's sweet as can be. Not sure why more people aren't seeking these out. The only other Abu I'd want is the STX but the one with the gold accents, 2012? That reel looks sweet. Saw them on Ebay for $199...not sure they command 100 more than the S though....maybe they do! Anyone have the STX that I'm speaking of and want to sell it?
  22. 6'6 MH Gander X Factor Micro guide rod is what I'm using right now...awesome little rod for blades ....I like rods all the way up to 6'10-7' though. I prefer them in that range for accuracy purposes. I don't throw spinnerbaits a mile anyway..it's more of a target bait for me....
  23. Suffix is great mono! Elite and Siege are both great...can't beat the price either.
  24. There's a Calcutta 150 on the Flea Market right now, looks like $100 shipped, that's a nice reel. Definitely an upgrade from the Cardiff. I owned a Cardiff 300....never fell in love with it. To each his own though. Good luck.
  25. I just ordered a jig by Molix called "the lover". It's a vibrating swim jig and looks amazing....can't wait to try it. Check it out at Tackle Warehouse....very sweet. Should be at my door tomorrow or Wed....will try to remember to post results when I get it out on the water....
