  1. My experience is during the weekends. I first got to the area three years ago and in my opinion the number of fisherman has increased, but I respect y'all's opinion(y'all have been here longer than me) During the fall I definitely noticed a drop in the number of boats. There has also been a decline in grass which gives the fish less habitat, but they have to stop the giant salvinia so it is a catch-22.
  2. We will see if there is a drop in the weights from last year to this year when the Elite Series fishes this weekend. The Bend has been getting hammered for two years since the #1 ranking from BASS.
  3. Any reports on the crappie? My dad is going and wants to fish shallow for crappie.
  4. Exactly, good for him. He's also featured on FLW's Circuit Breaker. Dude is getting it done right now!
  5. Day 10 on TW is already live and it's pretty disappointing...
  6. -burner spinnerbait (willowleaf spinnerbait} -caffeine shad (super fluke) -chrome sexy dawg (spook) When they're chasing shad really shallow in the backs of creeks I love to fish the caffeine shad fast, on top of the water. Spinnerbait for windy and cloudy days. Sexy dawg for schooling fish.
  7. Look at the light wire Roboworm rebarb hooks
  8. Yes they are super soft and tear easy but it makes a difference in the action and fish spitting the bait. When they bite an Ocho they will not let go.
  9. I don't think they make a bass hook that is too big for that bait lol
  10. Ish's Phat Frog white, black, or Fred's frog There's no gin clear water around me but if there was I would try the clear one.
  11. In the past 12 months the fishing pressure has been at an all time high and the grass is going away too....
  12. Strike King downsized the Bullworm. I may be in the minority but that 10" one is humongous. I will like the 8" better.
  13. The new Mustad hook. Looks like the ole classic worm hook, just updated with heavier wire and a nice keeper.
  14. http://www.bassmaster.com/mark-zona/ike-chesapeake-and-stubbornness I know I'm guilty
  15. He calls it a regular Pure Poison but it doesn't look like anything they offer right now. Green pumpkin with green pumpkin blade and looks like a beefier hook.
  16. I think I may have spied a "Hack Attack" bladed jig by Strike King... Might be seeing things tho lol
  17. 1XS is only available in a few colors now. So if you really want that color then jump on them. The KVD 1.5 shallow has good action but won't wake unless it's a super short cast. I'm going to melt the lip on one and see if I can get it to wake.
  18. Do you reel set them? I plan on going to that exact setup this summer and I'm interested in the hook set.
  19. Mustad Grip Pin hooks. I've got plastics that are butter soft and had same problems as you. Not anymore.
  20. A true 1/4 ounce finesse jig I like a baby beaver. Maybe a baby rage craw. A finesse flipping jig (3/8 ounce) I would use a menace grub. Compact and moves through the water quickly.
  21. It looks good. We all know what this is competing with... Only thing I need to know is how many come in a pack of 4 inch? That pic shows 6 for 4.75 inch. Give me 7 or 8 for the 4 inch and I'll be happy.
  22. Hey Catt what depth do you usually target on Vernon?
  23. Baby rage craw or a baby beaver. With a beaver it just looks like a plump little roasted quail to the fish...... I think
  24. I think Brent Chapman literally said "I even tried a Ned rig. Still haven't caught any" to a fellow competitor on MLF today.
  25. You already told us where it was! A nondescript private water in Florida.
