  1. The square bill does not cast very well but the paint job looks nice. Mine ran way to the left out of the box.
  2. Bash there head in with a big rock!
  3. Ive heard that the 805CB is an excellent DD22 rod.
  4. Is there an industry standard to what lb test/type of line the depth specs of these cranks are measured to?
  5. Ive been on a soft plastic binge for about 2 years and decided to get into cranking a couple of months ago. I went out and bought a Dobyns 764RM CB rod and paired it will a Pflugar Patriarch with upgraded bearings. I originally was using 30lb Suffix 832 braid(.011 diameter). The only thing that was bothering me was when I was fishing square bills in 4-6 feet of water. After about half the cast they were digging into the mud on the bottom. Now once they dig the bottom the hooks immediately pick up some kind of moss or algea and lose there action. Now the remander of the retrieve becomes ineffective. I bought KVD 1.5, H2O(rattle & non rattle), 6th Sense, and now the Rapala DT 3. I bought the DT 3 because its rated to go no deeper then 3 feet. I figured this would be perfect but that wasnt the case. Even the DT 3 would dig the bottom in 5 feet of water. I even went as far as checking the depth by dropping a lure straight to the bottom and measuring how much line went down to see if my depthfinder was off. It was reading correct, 5 feet on the depthfinder and 5 feet on the physical check. So yesterday I decided to buy some new line. I figured that had to be it. I went with mono over floro obviously because of the buoyancy. I spooled up 12lb Seaguar Senshi(.011 diameter) and tied on the DT 3. Now here is the strange part to me. With this new line it only took me a few cranks to start digging into the bottom in 5 feet of water. It dug right away with the rod down and with the rod parallel to the water. Now the only thing I can think of is that most of these squarebills run deeper then what the specs say they do? I would never imagine that something that seems to simple could become so complicated. Can someone recomend a good square bill that runs no deeper then 3ft for me please? 2-3 feet would be ideal for me in this area. I have the Manns Baby - 1 but would like something to go a little deeper so I can bounce off the cover. Any suggestions on what brand/lb test line I could use to make these things run to spec? Or any other suggestions to help solve the problem would be appriciated. Thanks!
  6. I never keep a bass unless it cant swim away after the release. My biggest so far came just shy of 7 and I released it without hesitation. However, when I do catch one 9 or better she will have seen her last day. Whenever that time comes, I will have put countless hours and spent thousands of dollars to feel I have earned the right to do so. That baby will go on my wall without hesitation!
  7. How do you plan on keeping the wires from wrapping around the chair mount when you do a 360 degree swivel?
  8. Thats messed up. It just sounds like you and Yo Zuri are just not meant to be.
  9. I just bought my first cranking rod mainly for lipless and squarebills. I had been using my Dobyns 703C(MH/F) for this in the past and I lost a ton of fish. I went with the 764CB RM and its making a big differance. When the fish grabs the crank the rod gives enough to allow a better hookset. With the casting MH/F it seems to just want to pull it away from the fish rather then allow it to grab the lure. I had a fish hooked up today on the 764CB and that fish danced and jumped the whole time in and still stayed on. The 703C would of most likely lost me that one for sure. If you are planning on throwing a lot of cranks it would be wise to pick up a cranking stick. It will only take a couple of fish for you to see what you have been missing.
  10. I own a 8' Raider and I wouldnt buy it for what you are wanting to use it for. Its just too small and cramped with two people. The 10' would suit you much better. Check out this thread....
  11. I felt the same way after signing up. Just be patient. Once you get another email( about a week) then email back asking to get setup for the member store. Your Paa login and password does not work for the store. The $20 Affinity is all you need for the discounts. The same discount applies to General and Affinity.
  12. Anyone heard why they are closing there store in Minola,Tx? They are closed and are opening back up next Tuesday and Wendsday to have an everything must go sale. I sure hope this is just a retail sales shutdown. One of there pro staffers posted this on another forum and people asked him about it but recieved no answer.
  13. Do you guys see an increase with KVD for casting distance with braid? I bought my first bottle and sprayed it on a new spool of 30lb Suffix 832 on a Curado. I honestly could not tell any differance when it came to distance. I havnt tried it on Mono yet.
  14. You can become a member of Fish PAA for $20 and recieve discounts from Strike King and other manufactors. I wont say what the discount is but it will pay for the membership in a hurry.
  15. After your post and researching some more, I think you are right. A medium heavy sounds like the better rod for me. I think I will just spend a few extra bucks and get a Dobyns Champion 705CB for this. Ive been throwing them on 703c lately, so that 705CB Mod/Fast taper should just be the icing on the cake. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Cooper, this is the first lipless rod I have looked for.
  16. I don't have a dedicated lipless crank bait rod at the moment and came across one of the new Crucial cranking rods a pretty good price. Its getting old retying every time I feel like throwing one, so I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. I tried to find some reviews online on these newer model rods but didn't have any luck. I usually throw a 1/2 or 3/4 trap in open water in a small lake behind the house. The only type of cover out there are the Christmas trees that I have sunk, other then those its just a flat mud bottom. The rod is a 7' 2" M MF(CRC-C72MA). Have any of you guys had the chance to use any of these new Crucial cranking rods? If so, what do you think about them so far? Do they compare well with the others in there regular price range(150-160)?
  17. The rage craw is one awesome bait. After using it I tried the Eeliminator on a 4/0 Superline EWG hook and man oh man does that thing look sick on the retrieve. Just reel that sucker in reeeally slow and hold on.
  18. I have had a 30lb, 40lb, & 55lb Endura on mine so far. The 30lb was too slow for me. There is a nice jump in speed from the 30 to the 40. Not so much of a difference in speed between the 40 & 55. I would get something in the 40-50lb range.
  19. Word is that Academy will have the 50E's for $99 on Black Friday if you want to go in that direction for the reel.
  20. The Cara weightless worm model paired with a 50E can cast a senko a exceptional distance. It also handles flukes & sammies very well too. I defiantly agree that this rod is over rated at MH. The only other Falcon rod that I own is a 6' 6" Falcon Original MH and that one felt over rated to me as well, but not near as much as the weightless worm model.
  21. Too bad that wasn't on video.
  22. What are they charging for shipping?
  23. I had a goal to hit 1000 but have fallen way short at 432. I think I got too into buying new tackle and just need to stick with what I know works next year.
  24. Ive never bought anything from them. They are an active member since 2005 on another forum I go to. They ban any bad sellers over there so I wouldn't hesitate if they have been a member there for 6 years.
