  1. Come give us a visit at westernbassclub.com. We hold monthly meeting, fish-ins and tournaments, low membership dues.
  2. The recomended rod is a 7 ft, fiberglass with a moderate taper rated as lite or medium lite. Yes you may be able to dual purpose a drop shot rod, but generally drop shot rods are shorter and just a bit more backbone to them. The key is this technique is a finesse presentation that will catch big bass in pressured clear water lakes. As soon as this catches on in the U.S. I feel there will be a flood of spybait rods on the market.
  3. When you buy a bigger house to have enough wall space to hang all your trophies and big fish pictures.
  4. I will after reading all the upabove posts I will keep hand poured reapers my secret.
  5. 6'8" to 7' medium lite action rod, 2500 sized spinning reel spooled with 6lb floro, Gamakatsu size 4 split shot/drop shot hooks, QuickDrops sinkers 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 ounce to start. Robo worms size 4.5 inch, 3.5 inch reapers, shade shaped worms, 3 inch senkos all in colors of Aaron's magic, watermellons, greenpumkins, whites and any local favorite color you have confidence in.
  6. Drop shotting is a very versitile method to use. I have learned using the right weight will make a big differance. Stay away from round drop shot weights, they hang up to easily. Quick Drops drop shot weights in the 3/16 size have become my favorite. They hang much less and give you great feel of the bottom. Use florocarbon line in the 6 - 8 lb range as a begginner to increase your sensitivity of the bite. Gamakatsu Drop/Split Shot Hooks in a size 4 are a great hook, most start out with too big a hook.
  7. I prefer the uni to uni knot. Keep it well moistened with your floro and tighten slowly and evenly.
  8. I like them for skipping under docks, rigged backwards with a 1/32 pegged bullet weight to the smallest of split shot on for weight, this levels the bait and slows the fall rate. This slower fall rate is also a has a "sinko" shimmy. Deadly!
