  1. As soon as it gets to my boat... my wife has a sharp eye and would know immediately I bought another rod if she spotted one with the plastic still on!
  2. I don't know how soon that particular bass will take another meal, but I'd be too embarrassed to return to that pond again until other anglers there stop laughing about that nit-wit who let a bass pull him into the drink...
  3. Usually one spinning rod, occasionally an additional bait casting rod, but I'd rather use the space for a short handled net than a second rod/reel.
  4. Yes I'll add a different bait, but I won't quit using the "hot" bait. A couple casts with a new bait, then a couple more casts with the "hot" bait. Sometimes I circulate through several different types of baits... oe
  5. I want the tip guide to have a ceramic insert even if other guides don't... oe
  6. Lucky Craft Pointer 78 and/or 100 78 = silent 100 = rattles
  7. I don't believe the silent red eye shad is being made anymore... am I correct?
  8. Very little talk of silent models?
  9. I free-hand the hook at 5 - 10 degrees to the stone. oe
  10. hmmm... 19 of 21 internet search results being wrong?... seems about right.
  11. An experienced back-reeler will know what to do... oe
  12. A DNR built rock wing-dam... structure or cover?
  13. We've got a business started a few years back by a local boy named Berkley Bedell. It still makes a few baits locally...
  14. I've got one I've been successfully catching bass with the last couple of years... but you wouldn't like it.
  15. length of daylight as well as sun intensity probably play a part also...
  16. My bit of advice fishing small tube baits... pinch down the hook barb. After many years fishing lightly weighted plastics, the tube bait is the ONLY bait I've had swallowed deeply before I could recognize the bite and set the hook. oe
  17. dressed jigheads aren't just for open water... Brewer Spider head and Fin-tech Title Shot jighead oe
  18. That sounds promising. Sensation has been my nylon mono of choice for several years. Thanks for the input.
  19. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
  20. I've not had much success dragging many baits as lake bottoms here are covered in stringy/clingy algae and decaying weeds or large rocks or all of the above. As slow as possible usually means very short "scoots" with frequent rests and/or slow as I can swimming just above the mess.
  21. You may correct, but I've never taken the time learning to use it. I can remember my better catches and after all, I'm the only one I'm fishing to satisfy...
  22. I think I'm going to give 8lb test Berkley Fluoroshield a try on a casting rod/reel I use when fishing suspending jerkbaits, top water and small crankbaits. The line has been in the market place for a couple years, but I haven't found many comments/reviews positive or negative. I'm interested in anyone's experienced opinion if they'd be willing to share. oe
  23. I don't even take a camera with me when I fish...
