Different soft plastic bait sizes require different jig head weights to maintain the same drop and retrieve speeds I like to fish. Desired depth also factors into the equation, so yes I need weights 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 & 3/8.

As in larger natural lakes, the outside weed edge (deeper) and inside weed edge (shallower) are important in finding active bass. Deeper than the outside weed edge is far less productive for me.

I rig it with an Owner Twist-lock light wire 3/0 hook. Let it shimmy on the fall to bottom as you would a Senko then walk it back with very light snaps... can also be affective with a slow steady retrieve. A lot of 4" perch get devoured by bass in our neck of the woods.

Forgive me if this has been posted and I missed it... Cashion rods has released a new rod with both a casting reel seat and a spinning reel seat. What do you think?...

I fish a sparsely tied rabbit/marabou jig in the early spring and late fall but not so much during the warmer months. I switch to a rabbit dressed leech pattern tied to a straight hook used drop shotting and a bou-tube (marabou dressed tube jig inserted into a 3" thin walled tube with the tentacles removed). I get better casting distance and depth with these baits and everything swimming in my lakes eat them...
