  1. Weightless plastic worm
  2. It's been in the low 40's and high 30's a couple of times this past week. We are expected to get the first hard freeze of the season on Tuesday or Wednesday.
  3. Prayers sent.
  4. I'm finally starting to get bites on other baits than Scoundrels and Dingers. The bass are slowly starting to go after moving baits.
  5. I have a pistol grip that I bought from BPS about 20 years ago, and a 6'0" Daiwa pistol grip from around 1978 or so. Neither one see much action these days.
  6. 1/16 oz Rooster Tail, or a 1-1/2" Rapala Original Floating Minnow.
  7. I always try to look at where I am catching them at. Are they schooling in open water or are they all in heavy cover. If they are in open water then they may be schooling on smaller fish. If they are tight to cover then they may be trying to hide from larger fish.
  8. A lot. I usually start shallow and then work my way down the water column into deeper water. If I don't get bites I start working my way back up the water column.
  9. Missouri has a wide variety of fish species in a wide variety of bodies of water.
  10. Once I'm in casting or pitching distance I drop the anchor. A 15 pounder will hold the boat without any problem.
  11. I fish pretty regular until Thanksgiving. After that I need to watch the weather to see what the high temperature for the day will be. If there are a couple of warm days in a row I'll be out on the water.
  12. I had my two upper wisdom teeth pulled after they came in. One tooth on the bottom moved into a space that was left open by an abscess molar. The last wisdom tooth on the bottom is lying flat against my jawbone. Dentist said that they won't do anything with that one unless it just absolutely has to come out.
  13. Use it. Then when you are fishing with it and someone admires it, sell it to them with a good markup.
  14. Chatterbaits in the spring and fall. Buzzbaits in the summer when it is raining. The rest I fish all year long.
  15. When it starts to become jacket weather I start fishing with a 1/16 oz. spinnerbait. I catch a lot of dinks, but every once in a while I find a hawg.
  16. I got this one in clear water on a white swim jig. I've been casting out past the coontail, letting the jig hit the bottom, and then bringing it back in toward the coontail just fast enough for the trailer to move.
  17. Congratulations! Chatterbaits seem to work better around here in the spring and fall when the temps are cooler.
  18. Some nice looking smallies right there.
  19. Welcome to Bass Resource.
  20. I always have some cash on me. I only use plastic when I absolutely have to.
  21. Depending on the size of the chatterbait, either 10# or 15# Big Game.
  22. Oh wow! Glad you're Ok. My mom use to say when stuff like that happened that your guardian angel was with you.
  23. Back in late April I was fishing a spook jr. in a pond. It was raining off and on so I had my rain jacket on with the hood down at that time. I made a cast and before I could start to retrieve it starts raining again. I reach over to pull up my hood, and when I do that, I start moving the rod tip around which moves the spook around out in the lake. A nice bass came up and took it. I get the bass about half way back to the bank, and it came unhooked. It would easily have been my largest bass on top this year if I had landed it.
