  1. You can find a kid that likes to fish and give him a great present.
  2. I bought a Bionic Blade for crankbaits and spinnerbaits but I wouldn't use it for jigs and plastics.
  3. Start practicing with a 3/8 practice plug or heavier. Don't try for distance at first, just work on getting the plug out without a backlash. Tighten the knob on the side down so that when you hold the rod level the plug slowly drops down.
  4. Just put on the rain gear and keep on going. I have also found out the hard way that it is a good idea to keep a scoop in the boat in case of a real heavy downpour.
  5. hahaha ;D
  6. The prices haven't made me change where I fish, but I have changed the way I drive there.
  7. My dad bought one when they first came out and had the same problem.
  8. Make sure that there isn't anything behind you that the hooks can catch on when you bring the rod back. I've never had a backlash as bad as when I hooked a bush in back of me when I was casting out.
  9. I picked up a 6'6 BPS Bionic MH over this past Father's day sale. I started off with a Abu 3600 black max on it, but that was too light. Recently I put on a 5600C4, and I am able to cast crankbaits from 3/16 to 1/2 ounce without any problem. I was really surprised that this new set up could handle baits that small.
  10. I don't like to use other people's tackle, especially crankbaits. I am always afraid that I'll hang one up and lose it.
  11. I gotta go with the plastic worm. I've caught bass in 3 feet of water on a 98 degree day, and bass in 15 feet of water when the high temp was 42.
  12. Sometimes I tie direct and sometimes I use a snap. It depends on how many crankbaits I brought with me and how much lure changing I am doing.
  13. The smaller ones fight more.
  14. I have all Abu baitcasters right now. (1) 5000 (1) 5600C3 (1) 5600C4 When these wear out I'll either look at getting some Shimano reels or the Abu Revo.
  15. For two years now a sedona.
  16. I like to trim the guard even with, or just a little above the point of the hook. As for the skirts, I really don't shorten them that much. I do trim them so that all of the strands are even and the same length.
  17. Oh thank goodness.
  18. I have seen this several times, but the bass are always on the small side and swimming in a V formation.
  19. I caught this 4-11 yesterday on a watermelon candy superhog. I didn't notice it until I was looking at the picture but he seems awful thin. I have only fished here once before so I'm not sure what type of baitfish are in this pond.
  20. Rat-l-trap 1/2 ounce black/blue. T rigged plastic worm.
  21. Around here the dinks like to bite off the tails.
  22. I've been using Booyah and Strike King Bitsy Bugs.
  23. And stay away from trees on small islands out in the middle of a lake!!!
  24. I usually go in the mornings. I try to be on the water between 5:00 and 5:30.
