  1. What I normally catch.
  2. To all you guys down south that white stuff is called snow .
  3. Congratulations!
  4. Looks to me like it was relieving itself and didn't know the camera was there.
  5. Another baitmonkey spot is the Gateway Outfitters in St. Peters at highway 70 and the Cave Spring exit.
  6. Its 33 here and spitting snowflakes off and on. I can't wait to get out and get my line wet .
  7. A 3/8 or 1/4 black-blue strike king jig with a dark colored baby brush hog or crawfish trailer.
  8. I have about 20 rat-l-traps and around 9 super spots, mostly in natural colors. The largest I have ever caught on them was in the 3 pound range.
  9. We stayed at The Animal Kingdom Lodge two years ago, and I wanted to try it for a 1/2 day. My wife and two girls reminded me that this was a family vacation and that we were going to do family things...like hit every friggin store in Disney World :-/.
  10. Years ago my wife went a couple of times with me but that all changes when (1.) she caught a turtle and felt sorry for it, and (2.) she dropped a rod and reel into the drink. Luckily it was a Zebco 33 on an old rod. Now my wife and two daughters go with me to the BPS and pick out pretty baits for me to buy and look at the fish tank.
  11. I try and get out every weekend as long as the lakes are not iced up.
  12. Everyone on this forum taught me patience. After reading the articles and reading the threads over and over again, I finally got it . I was working my plastics way to fast.

    Hello

    Welcome Aboard!!
  14. A couple of years ago, one of the cable stations (Discovery Channel/National Geo. ?) ran a show about a chimpanzee that was walking upright like a person, was much smarter than the average chimpanzee, and was shunned by the chimps around it. The scientists were speculating that this chimp was some sort of freak leap forward in chimp evolution.
  15. It would depend on why it had to be refurbished and the type of reel it is.
  16. We had a dry cold front go through last Thursday. I went fishing yesterday with a bright sunny bluebird sky. Low temp was about 44, but it was probably more like 37 or 38 at the lake. Highs later on in the week are expected to be in the 40's.
  17. I would go with a 6-1/2' or 7' heavy rod with a fast tip anytime your in really thick cover.
  18. For me the most informative video was the one on jig fishing, but I really think he missed the boat with the video with the animal scream on it. Russ could of had himself a close up of bigfoot .
  19. The two things I look for first are depth and cover/structure. Wind direction is a close third. I fish from the bank 75% of the time, so the first thing I do is throw out a jig or t-rig to get a mental picture of what is on the bottom. After I get an idea of what's in front of me and how deep it is I'll try to position myself so that the wind is blowing across the spot I want to fish and toward me.
  20. I've caught them on Rat-l-traps and spinnerbaits. More on Rat-l-Traps.
  21. I like to let them sink all the way to the bottom then slow roll them back with a nice steady retrieve.
  22. X2. Also having pretty good luck with jigs.
  23. I would look for large holes and work the jig across the hole from one side to the other real slow.
  24. The salesperson that sold me my phone said that T-mobile phones have a card in them that you can put in other T-mobile phones, kind of like a memory chip. If you have everything saved to the chip and something happens to your phone, you can buy a cheapie T-mobile phone, put your chip in and you will still have all of your info. Don't know how they work after they have been wet though.
  25. Here in Mo. the only time I can't get out in winter is when the water freezes.
