  1. I don't know if they still do it or not, but years ago it was illegal to use live bait in some of the St. Louis City lakes during certain times of the year. You would go down there and everyone would be throwing spinner baits.
  2. #2 eagle claw hooks. I haven't used aberdeen hooks since I had a couple straighten out on me.
  3. Same thing here only I like to use a c-rig for the bottom and cut up bait.
  4. Abu Garcia Amb. 5000 spooled with 15 lb. Berkley Big Game on a 6'-6" Diawa heavy action/fast tip rod.
  5. Read the articles on this web site .
  6. Could you use regular bait sent in the oil form, or would that dry out?
  7. I wish I could have a day like that!!

  10. Before all of this modern technology, we use to cruise around the area during the day and then come back to it at night.
  11. I get up at 4:00 AM, load up the car and I am over at my buddy's house by 5:00 AM. Move my stuff into his truck, drive the 12 or so miles to the lake, and we're on the water by 6:15 AM if all goes well.
  12. I keep cat and crappie only. I can't stand the taste of bass.
  13. The next trolling motor I get will be a Minn Kota. I currently have a Motor Guide now. Without running into something under the water, I have had problems with the prop falling off. I have also had to have the switch replaced several times.
  14. I have had good luck fishing weightless flukes in moss and weeds. I just bring them across the tops of the moss in little short jerks, and then let them fall into holes.
  15. 6'6" heavy for jigs 6'6" medium heavy for plastics 6'6" medium for finesse plastics
  16. Right now green is working here in clear lakes. Black is working in muddy water.
  17. Welcome Aboard!!
  18. I keep them in the original bags and then put them inside ziplock bags. I can pull out one ziplock bag and have all of the same baits together.
  19. Put on the sunblock before you head out of the house. By the time you reach the lake and get the boat in the water, the sunblock has worn off your hands.
  20. I tend to use them alot for jig trailers.
  21. Around here its small lakes and ponds. The closest lakes 1000+ acres in size are about 2 hours away.
  22. X2.
