    I went to the BPS in St. Charles on Saturday morning. I wanted to get more jigs, and maybe some different trailers. I ended up only buying new fishing license for 2009. The place was a madhouse. I am planning on going back after work one day this week.

    Had to be when I caught my PB. I was at a lake that I thought only had dinks in it. I was palming my baitcaster and when I felt a tap I figured it was another little one. When I set the hook the fish headed out into deeper water and it about pulled the rig right out of my hands.

    On Tues., Wed., and Thurs. the temps were in the 60's and 70's. Saturday the high was 31 and it was spitting snow off and on.

    Rod - 6-6 Daiwa Procaster Reel - Abu 5600C3 Line - Yo-Zuri Hybrid #15 Lure - 3/8 or 1/2 ounce black/blue or all black jig.

    All of my baitcasters have 15 pound line, the spinning reel has 10, and the ultralight has 4.

    I use a 6-6 heavy for jigs 3/8 and up and a 6-6 MH for anything under 3/8. I like the 6-6 heavy for c-rigs and heavy t-rigs.

    Take the hooks off of them and use them to practice flippin and pitchin.

    I have never used the ones made out of balsa, but I do use the plastic ones quite a bit. I like the 1/4 ounce size ripped over the tops of weeds.

    I have on that I use only for cranks and spinners.

    I would get some 4# or 6# line also.
