I have found that sometime the bass want the trailer and skirt to be the same color, and sometimes they like some contrast between the skirt and trailer.
Went out pond hopping on Friday to try out the gear and make sure everything was working OK. Ended up catching 2 dinks and 1 the one in the pic that went 1-12, all on spinnerbaits. Water was cold, temp was about 75, and the wind was gusty.
I have read that over time braid will cut into the line guides on a rod. Is this still a problem with newer rods? Has anyone ever had to replace the guides on a rod?
I had my last one built by a computer store. It may cost a little more but there are some advantages.
1. ALL of the software you have installed on the system is yours and they should give you the CD with the software on it.
2. You can ask them to build the system with specific components.
3. The PC will come with only the software you have asked for.

My home computer picked up some sort of nasty virus on Monday or Tuesday. The hard drive was making a racket and I was getting screen fulls of pop up windows. The two anti virus programs I have couldn't find anything, but when I tried to update them my browser crashed. Then I tried to go to the web sites and download new versions, and the computer kept telling me their websites were not found. When I got home tonight I tried searching the names of the pop up windows and I got blue screened. Ended up having to reformat my hard drive and reload windows on it.

We were fishing from the bank one day and my partner got a topwater hung up about 10' from the bank in about 8 or 9 feet of water. Over the next 1/2 hour he lost four more baits trying to snag the first one and get it back. I don't know what types they were but it sure was a weird sight seeing all of those cranks and topwaters floating around the stick up.
Get a plastic container that is large enough to hold the lure. Fill up the container with the stuff you spray on your shower to kill mold and mildew. Weight down the lure to make sure it is completely covered. Leave the lure in the container over night. I'm not sure what this will do to the paint. Most of the ones I have done this to I have found and they are in need of a paint job.
I went to the BPS in St. Charles on Saturday morning. I wanted to get more jigs, and maybe some different trailers. I ended up only buying new fishing license for 2009. The place was a madhouse. I am planning on going back after work one day this week.
Had to be when I caught my PB. I was at a lake that I thought only had dinks in it. I was palming my baitcaster and when I felt a tap I figured it was another little one. When I set the hook the fish headed out into deeper water and it about pulled the rig right out of my hands.
