  1. We went out on Wednesday and did some pond hopping. For a while it looked like he wasn't going to catch anything and them he ended up with a 1-06 LM, which is his new PB. He got it tossing a topwater popper in between two weed beds around noon on a sunny day.
  2. I like to thread them on a 1/16 or 1/8 ounce jig and flip them into grass and weeds.
  3. Senko type bait Jig Plastic Worm 9" or longer.
  4. I've only missed four weekends since the 1st week in March. During the winter I'm bouncing off of the walls until spring. I just take a lot of sunscreen and water with me and I don't think about the heat and humidity.
  5. I used pork many years ago. Now I just use plastic.
  6. I have six set ups, but I normally only use three of them. crankbait/spinnerbait heavy jig finesse jig carolina rig/heavy t-rig finesse t-rig ultralight
  7. Good Post. I have around 100 bucks worth of BPS gift cards and now I know what I'm going to use them on .
  8. A couple of the ponds that I fish are very clear. I cast out my jig far enough to where I can't see it anymore. I will bring it back across the bottom or swim it back depending on what the bass want. When the jig gets close enough for me to actually see it, I'll bring it back in. If I can see the jig then the bass going after it can see me.
  9. Zoom large salty chunk, Zoom Super Chunks, and any plastics that are too beat up to stay on a t-rig any longer.
  10. I was torn between topwater and jiggin. Finally chose jiggin, just because I have caught more bass with jigs down deep than with topwaters this year.
  11. One of the small lakes I fish has both shad and crawdads in it. This lake is covered in hydrilla. The smaller size LM seem to go after the shad more, while the hawgs stay under the the grass mats on the bottom of the lake going after the crawdads.
  12. Probably a Zoom Mag II in Watermelon Red.
  13. Apparently I give financial advice in Australia http://www.bankbeaters.com.au/
  14. I've been when the temp was in the mid 30's with no wind and caught bass and I have been when the temp was 50 with gusty winds and about frozen my behind off. I will not go when the air temp is in the 20's.
  15. I must have been having a blast . I remember reading about it after the fact and watching the tape of it on TV, but I don't remember the landing at all.
  16. Congrats on your big day!!
  17. Don't be afraid to go to the ER. About 10 years ago I got a worm hook in me deep and debated about whether to remove it myself since it wasn't bleeding that bad. I ended up going to the ER and the Dr. said that they would have to be careful in taking it out because it was very close to the artery.
  18. I'll either be weightless or have a 1/8 ounce weight on the line. The only time I will put on a larger weight will be if the wind picks up or I start fishing deep water.
  19. I've found that after you think that you're all the way through, you're usually not. I've had to raise the bait and drop it down 2 or 3 times to punch all of the way through.
  20. I've had very little luck with cranks and topwaters this year. Its gotten to the point when I head out I leave them at home and just use jigs and plastics.
  21. Those pics are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Went out Saturday for about 7 hours to a small lake that gets fished a lot. Dad boated 9, and I boated 8, with the largest being about 1-1/2 pounds. The bummer of the day came when I cast a 1/8 ounce jig up on a gravel covered hump with grass growing all around it. One hit the jig and headed off the hump back into the deep water. I turned him, got him to the boat and went to get him out of the water when he shook his head and got off. Dad said that it was at least 4 or 4.5 pounds. We still had a good time and I know where I'm going this Saturday.
