  1. About two weeks ago the computer took a power surge during a lightning storm. Everything seemed fine, but I couldn't connect to the internet. Checked the modem and it was dark and not getting any power. I called AT&T and they said my warranty was still good so they sent me out a new modem. Went to hook it up and the computer wouldn't accept AT&T's ip address, so I called customer support. One of the things that they had me do was shut down my PC all the way after the new modem was connected. No change. After three hours on the phone and talking to 2 or 3 people they said that the problem was in my computer. I called a couple of computer stores and they said that one of the boards was probably fried. I finally got around to taking the side off of the computer, but before I did I unplugged it from the wall. Everything looked ok inside so I plugged it back in. All of a sudden the modem starts up and everything starts working correctly. I just sort of sat there for a couple of seconds and stared at it. Then the little light bulb went off in my head. When I bought the computer they told me that using the start button to turn off the system only shuts off certain things. To really cut the juice I need to unplug it or use the master switch. Next time it storms here everything is getting unplugged.
  2. I have never used glue to fix plastics. I just heat up a paperclip with my lighter and melt the torn area back together again.
  3. My Dad buys a St. Croix at BPS on Monday. Takes it out and uses it Tuesday morning. He said he caught 4 or 5 bass on it, then he is lifting one out of the water (he didn't say how big) and the rod broke about 1/3 of the way down from the tip. He took it back to BPS on Tuesday afternoon and they said that he would have to call St. Croix. Now I don't know what was said, but the Dept. manager comes over and says since it was just bought the day before they would exchange it. I believe his new one is a Falcon.
  4. I had the same problem with my sedona. I started out with 10 pound line, then went down to 8, and then down to 6. It didn't matter what brand of line I put on, it still wanted to twist. I ended up putting some braid on it and problem solved.
  5. If the grass is spreading out across the surface I park the boat in it so the fish can't see me. If there is nothing growing then I will make long casts, use natural colors, and hope for a little wind.
  6. Make sure that the hook is sharp.
  7. Texas rigged, carolina rigged, or split shot rigged.
  8. x3 X4 I would have a jig, spinnerbait, and a brush hog tied on.
  9. With the weather we have had lately I am going to say October.
  10. I use to have a lot of luck with a cane pole .
  11. My revo-s handles 1/16 ounce baits better than the curado. I'm not sure if the rods are making a difference or not. Both reels are on a MH with a F tip, but I can cast the curado farther when throwing a 3/8 crankbait. The curado just seems a little more loose than the revo.
  12. IMO, if you are going to buy a high end BPS reel, you might as well spend $20, or $30 more to get a Revo or Shimano.
  13. Of all time would be the original Cordell Big-O that came out in the early 70's. I caught a ton of fish on those. My favorite to use now would be the Mann's 1 minus in Brown Crawdad. That lure seems to work anywhere.
  14. Don't know why my last post didn't take. What I was going to say was that I bought mine used back in '06, and it hasn't given me any problems.
  15. X4I bought mine used back in '06 and it hasn't given me any problems. x2, yes they are. x3 I got one the year I joined the Army (1997), and I used it until 2008. I gave it to a buddy who was in need of a spinning reel, and it is still in use.
  16. If I can hit the shad I will throw something that will drop down through them like a jig or a large plastic bait. If I can't hit them I try a rat-l-trap or a spinner bait.
  17. 5 and 6 pounds? Around here a 3 pounder is newsworthy.
  18. Days like this make you appreciate the days when nothing goes wrong.
  19. This is the first thing that I thought of also.
  20. A t-rigged 3" senko, or knockoff, with a 1/16 weight and a 1/0 hook. If you don't have a 3" senko just take a 6" bait and cut it in half. Because its more compact it lasts longer and doesn't tear up as easy.
  21. I t-rig them just like any other plastic bait.
  22. Around here if the bass are not biting a senko they will usually be biting a z-nail. I bought six or seven packs about 5 years ago when the BPS near me had them in a reduced bin.
