  1. I was curious about the total amount of the stuff I find in a year, so this year I started putting everything I find in a box. Now granted the areas I fish are extemely hard hit and pressured. The count so far is about 8 weights of various sizes, 2 bobbers, 1 spinner bait, and 8 crankbaits. Some of the items are trashed, but others are in pretty good shape.
  2. I usually fish them t-rigged with a 1/16 weight on a spinning reel.
  3. I would buy an Abu Garcia or a Shimano. The problem with BPS reels is that the one you buy might last 10 years or bust the second time you use it.
  4. RIP, Wild Bill.
  5. Just tell everyone that you had your feet dangling in the water while fishing off of the dock and a big hawg came up and tried to pull you into the lake.
  6. I never put it on the scale, but I guess it would have gone 1-1/4 lb.
  7. I caught a LM while fishing a Z-nail in about 15' of water down between two weed banks. I get him up into the boat and start to remove the hook when I realize that I can't see the hook anywhere just the Z-nail. My first thought was that the hook was swallowed down in the gut, but when I looked the bass over I didn't see any blood. I got the plastic out of the fish’s mouth and saw that the hook was snagged on the gills. There was no penetration from the barb. The hook just passed between the gills and the business end must have come back through again when I set the hook. I got a second pair of pliers, cut the line, and carefully backed the hook out the gill. I am really glad I took the time to look that fish over before I started to try and remove the hook, or else I might have killed it. Hopefully that one will get even bigger.
  8. We use them for catching cat. Cut them up into 3rds and leave the guts in. Make sure that you check the local and state laws where you will be fishing.
  9. I like the senko when fishing it on a t-rig with a weight. When going weightless I like the BPS stik-o. The stik-o holds together better when I'm pulling it through heavy weeds.
  10. Nice bass. Jitterbugs can be the ticket sometimes.
  11. Hope you feel better soon and try not to rush it. The fish will still be there waiting for you.
  12. I have caught those things on plastic worms, BPS stik-o, and rat-l-traps. Play them down to wear them out and don't try to pick them up by lipping them unless you have some band-aids handy.
  13. With the 100+ weather we had over the past couple of weeks the big bass have buried themselves down deep in the weeds, and they don't want to come out. I have heard that alot of people are doing very well cat fishing around mid day though.
  14. That fish is a big one, congrats to you both.
  15. I have never used one. I hate driving right up on something and then trying to figure out how to get around it. Its much easier to check the web pages of the state highway dept. and then plan accordingly.
  16. Its probably better to keep them alive as long as possible. I say throw it in alive.
  17. Hope your drag held up fighting that monster!
  18. X2 and try using a smaller weight.
  19. I kind of do that know. I will see a spot that looks fishy and my gut will tell me to fish it good. Sometimes the spot holds fish and sometimes it doesn't.
  20. WTG, you have got some monster bass down there.
  21. Congrats. He will want to go after LM next.
  22. I usually go after bass no matter what time of year it is.
  23. Holy cow Chris, that could eat some of the bass I have been cathcing around here!
  24. Jig n pig or a jig n craw
  25. I actually thought that this was a basketball movie before I saw the previews.
