  1. Great pics, thanks.
  2. Always have a knife in the tackle bag or in my pocket. Never know when you'll need one.
  3. If all of the above won't take care of the problem I would consider getting a new reel. I had a spinning reel that would twist line no matter how I put line on, or what I did. Bought a new one last year and have not had any problem with it.
  4. Looks like you had some good night action.
  5. I have my 10 lb Big Game on my spinning rig and have never had any problems.
  6. This year I have probably lost 6 or 7 jigs so far. None of them were close to being worn out.
  7. Could be a lot of things causing the line to break. Are you pulling your baits through anything rough that could be damaging your line?
  8. I have an old Mitchell 308 on a 6' med rod. Mainly use it for crappie and bluegill. Starting this year though, I think I will try my hand with trout.
  9. My Dad grew up fishing and still loves to go. I never had to ask.
  10. Was at work when the 1st plane hit. We all thought is was some kind of accident, and were trying to get on CNN online which overload the company firewall. Ended up calling my Parents to find out what happened. I was talking to my Dad when I heard my Mom say "Be Quiet". That is when the 2nd plane hit. Back then I worked next to the airport, and the thing I will never forget is how quiet it was outside when they grounded all of the commerical flights. That was the eeriest quiet that I have ever heard.
  11. This happened to a friend of my Dad's a couple of years ago. They were out fishing from the bank when a fawn came up to my Dad's friend and started trying to get into his coat pocket. The only thing they could think of was that people had been feeding it, and the fawn was no longer afraid of people.
  12. It depends on the body of water I am fishing. I am not going to get mad if I can't catch a 5 lb bass in a lake that I know is full of dinks. However, as a rule of thumb when I go out I am happy if I can catch one and not get skunked.
  13. That is a great video.
  14. Welcome back.
  15. Rat-l-trap or a Super Spot this time of year.
  16. Sometimes using a plastic worm as a trailer is killer. I usually use a Super Chunk or a Large Salty Chunk. Both by Zoom.
  17. Watch your step. The last thing you want to do is walk down on some rip rap and have a rock fall into the water right where you want to cast.
  18. Not really absent minded, but I have missed some while digging out a backlash.
  19. I will keep catfish, crappie, and bluegill, as long as, they are legal. Bass go back in the water.
  20. I was wondering if you were using spinning gear? Could be that your line is twisted.
  21. I keep them in the original packages that they came in. If the label gets to the point that you can't read it any longer, just write on the package with a sharpie.
  22. I tend to use the same ones that I use when fishing on the bottom.
  23. If the water isn't frozen over and the temp is in the high 30's to low 40's I will be out.
