  1. As long as you lower the anchor slowly, and don't fish right on top of it, you shouldn't have any problems. I use a 15# mushroom anchor. The 10# size wouldn't hold in gusty winds.
  2. Smithwick Rogue, Spro McStick, Rapala Husky Jerk, and the SK KVD 200.
  3. Probably a weightless plastic worm worked through the vegetation.
  4. The hard baits stay in 3700 boxes in a couple of cabinets. The soft plastics stay in their original packaging, and I keep them in old tackle boxes that I don't use any longer.
  5. A few years back I used fluoro for t-rigs and jigs. I didn't care for it and never used it again.
  6. I would consider this a very good extracurricular activity.
  7. Back in HS I worked at a grocery store, washed cars, cut grass, and worked at a restaurant. Right after HS, I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I worked as a laborer at a construction company owned by my Mom's cousin. I did that for a year then started college majoring in business admin. with an emphasis on finance and marketing. While in college I worked at another grocery store. After numerous interviews with multiple finance and marketing companies, one of my dad's friends hired me on at a aerospace / defense contractor company as a CAD operator working on second shift. During the day I was still working at the grocery store. It eventually closed about a year and half after I graduated. I switched departments after I got married, and was finally hired on as a full time employee, starting my career in Facilities. Over the past 37 years I have worked myself up to a project / construction manager running every type of job from ordering a new chair, to gutting an entire structure, and then building it back out.
  8. I'll take 95 over 10 degrees. The heat has never bothered me.
  9. Jitterbug, Lucky 13, and Crazy Crawler worked over the top of submerged vegetation.
  10. I'm still looking. Most of my crankbaits are baby 1 minus. Those things are killers. Strike King has a 1.5 shallow crank I'm looking at. I have a few of the BPS Eggs, but I haven't seen those on the BPS website for a few months now.
  11. I think I have fished with white the most. Followed by black when the water is murky.
  12. Finally, the third trip of the year was a charm. I got this one on a white 3/8 spinnerbait yesterday morning.
  13. #1 for me. I know I'm going to catch fish so #2 will work itself out. I'll find out #3 before I leave, and I'm not worried about #4.
  14. I'll use a 1/2 ounce size depending on the depth I'm fishing or how hard the wind is blowing.
  15. Thanks for the video, Glenn. Good point about the muddy water.
  16. Happy everyone made it back home OK.
  17. Watch the bugs and the turtles. If they are moving around then the bass might be too.
  18. I found out yesterday that a good friend of mine passed away who I've known since the 8th grade. That one hit me right in the gut. On top that off, this Thursday it will be 10 years since my dad passed away. I know my dad is a peace and when I go fishing he's out there with me, and I said a prayer for John, he was a good guy and he'll be missed,
  19. I have one of the foam life vests. In cold weather it can double as a wind breaker.
  20. I don't think FFS will ruin fishing, or cause the lakes to be emptied of bass, but it will be interesting to see how the suspended bass start adapting to it.
  21. I miss catching nice panfish. Bluegill, redear, and crappie. They're fun to catch and they taste good too. If I'm fishing a lake stocked with muskie and I don't catch one, I'm not going to be sad about it.
  22. I was planning to head out this morning to fish a couple of ponds. Woke up to a snow and rain mix. Well at least we are getting moisture.
  23. I bought my 2024 fishing license about a month ago. No surcharge yet.
  24. It depends on how much I have practiced tying the new knot and how confident I feel with my knot tying ability.
