  2. Hey thanks Big M, i just look at your guys stuff and hope to mkae some that nice.
  3. Just finished these, made for using. Still gotta dial in the clear.
  4. I agree with whittler, make and paint the lures. That frog is a little nasty thing, just the right time to make it, and now all we need is the picture of that walking on water and getting blasted. Any way to make one weedless ya think? All the rest of the baits look very nice as well.
  5. Just a couple lures i just finished. I need to smooth out my paint. probably should get a new airbrush, but if anyone has any ideas to help i would like to hear. Thanks Ben for the heads up on the clear, it worked awesome. Cant wait to make some more.
  6. I like the bluegill. That bone white one would kill fish by me, white always works.
  7. I agree with the last replys. I just started making and painting my own and cant seem to get enough of it. If you are skilled in the art feild you will be into it im sure. I too am an artist. One thing is for sure, that when you tie on something you did yourself and catch a fish, its a feeling that you wont know unless you do it. I say go for it.
  8. Awesome as always. The fourth one down's paint is really nice. Looks like you busted some tricks out of your sleeve on that. Does it take long to make these or you just bustin em out quick now?
  9. Man these are gonna leave some fish on the end of a line for sure.
  10. These look very nice. Are you actually making these, and then paintin em? And if so, what are they made out of, and do ya make the lips too? I like the first one, looks like it took a long time.
  11. These look sweet dude, you must have lots of free time. That crackle paint looks nice, almost looks marble.
  12. Sweet, yes that sounds good and easy to find, thanks.
  13. I was just wondering if anyone knew of some good screen to use to paint scales on a lure, or where i could pick some up? I used a sink screen on a couple already but was thinking of using something to maybe wrap around em. Would appreciate any help.
  14. Right on, well they look nice.I like the first one, it looks like you put some time into it. Did you use some kind of screen on that? Oh and they look like they are made of glass, i gotta get me some clear like that. When you use that kind of clear, do you rotate em while drying, or just let em hang?
  15. Those look nice. Did you make the bodies as well?
  16. Wow these look nice, did you make these, or repaint em?
  17. Again, thanks to all for the valuable info. Sounds like i just need to get out on it and feel it out. I think one thing for sure, is that on the water should be better then on the side lines, ha.
  18. Thanks for the replys, i guess i will just have to try it out and see how well it works. Its my new fishing experience for the year, so im really lookin foward to it. If that d**n mother nature would just be nice already.
  19. So i am pretty new at lure making, but was just wondering what the pvc is. Do you get molded bodies and paint em, or you make them from pvc , or what? These look nice thou, i really like your paint work.
  20. I just picked up a kayak this winter for fishing. Got a real good deal that i couldnt pass on.I have seen alot of people saying that the sit on are better then the sit in. Just wondered why that is and if i should craiglist the one i bought, which is a sit in, and pick up a different one? Im mostly using it to drift a river and to have access at better holes. Would appreciate any feedback.
  21. I been airbrushing for a little while mostly on canvas but just started making lures and painting them to. I've always used some pretty cheap paint called createx and always had pretty good luck.I found a pearlized white from them at a hobby store that i like for lures and you can cut your other colors with it to.Also i just came across a thinning idea for that paint on u tube. It said use a two oz. bottle and fill half with paint, a quarter water, and the rest pledge floor finish since its acrylic based . Said it would make it flow smoother, but not sure ywt, still gotta try it.
  22. These are a couple i just finished making. Carved em out of wood(pine i think) on my bench grinder, weighted , painted, and cleared em. Gotta get some epoxy clear thou, i just used some cheapy stuff on these. Swim good thou and hope to smash some big lips as soon as this year kicks off by me. Always a better feeling catchin fish with your selfmade lures. Still kinda new at making them thou, any advice would be much appreciated.
  23. sweet man , thanks alot. i will probably post some of my own soon.
  24. I like these, a nice job indeed. So i just signed into this site so i could check out the pics of what is being made. I just started making some lures myself, and i dont know if im being a newb on here or what, but i was wondering what sort of clearcoat you used on these?
