  1. If this was based on tourney fishing then I can see that. But recreationally????????? I don't think so.
  2. Fork not even in the top 10. Oh my. I have never fished any of those other lakes, but I find it hard to believe Fork didn't crack that list. Do you know when this list was made? It could have been when Fork had the Largemouth Virus. That would be understandable. I think roadwarrior will have something to say about the Tennessee River not making the list either.
  3. Here's a good one: http://www.paintcenter.org/rj/sep03i.cfm
  4. Google it. You find lots of articles. I did. I can't really remember the fine details, but I will tell you there is a TON of prep work. I am sure LBH will be able to help you. I will try to find those articles for you as well.
  5. I personally like the Fluke when the bite is tough during the spring.
  6. Well said basspro05.
  7. I don't want to know. I've heard there are monsters down there
  8. I fish about 4 regularly. Where I go can be dictated by a lot of things. Like who I m going with, what type of fishing I want to do or work on, wind, weekday or weekend, and lately gas prices. One of these lakes I fish is about an hour and a half from me. Two years ago I was going down there about once a week during the summer. Last summer I was forced to fish lakes more close to me because of gas prices. As long as I have somebody going with me, I have no problems driving quite a ways for a one day trip. My dad and I have drove 5 hours a couple of times to fish a big farm pond that we got permission to fish.
  9. Were these in a file? On display?
  10. Now you have me curious. Looks like I will be making a trip up to City Hall sometime :. Did you already know about the flooded roads? New Honey Hole? I think I found a couple of flooded roads, possibly a bridge, this winter after doing some research on a lake I fish. I can't wait to get out there and check it out as I am sure you are as well.
  11. This is kind of like that golf saying .... "Drive for show, putt for dough" I personally think that a person that can go out and put fish in the boat regardless of the conditions day in and day out is pretty impressive. Although I would rather have a couple big fish than a bunch of little ones in each outing recreationally speaking. Tournament wise I would rather have a five bass limit everytime. Great question ............... Actually I don't know what I think ... ;D :-?
  12. My dad, my neighbor, and I have all had bad experiences with HBs. The main problem we've had is that when we're running over 10 mph we can't get a reading. Shouldn't be a problem for me. It will either be in my two man bass boat or my buddy's Jon boat both powered by a trolling motor.
  13. What's wrong with Humminbirds? The reason I ask is because I am looking at the 535 portable. It seems to be the best portable one out there. BTW, I have to get a portbale because this is going to be used on two differnt boats.
  14. I agree with Ken
  15. I'm kind of like Gobbledog. My dad intoduced me to fishing at a pretty early age, but I taught myself how to bass fish pretty much on my own. Then I got my dad into bass fishing.
  16. Yes it applies for online orders too. You just have to set it up.
  17. Lake Fork has Florida strain right? I think that is my only experience with the Florida strain. I noticed that when you hooked up on Fork, you had a pretty good idea about the size of the fish. Meaning you could really feel the weight of the fish. Where there are times up here and and you hook into what you think is a toad and you get it to the boat and it's a 2 lber. I caught quite a few 4 to 5 lbers at Fork so in comparison to the northern strain, same size, I think there is no doubt they fight harder. BTW I think the 4-5 lbs bass, in the waters I fish at least, are the hardest fighting pound for pound.
  18. I stand behind everything I said in that post .... It's the truth. : ;D
  19. The best time to fish is anytime you can get out there!!!!
  20. Keep me updated. I am very interested. The format is different. I like it!! I'll send you a email as well.
  21. She's moving now
  22. I have had a great and one not so good customer service experiences in the last month. Both fising related. First the not so good ........... well maybe it was OK, but not as good as I would have hoped of. I don't know if any of you remember or not, but I made a post about a Team All-Star rod that's guide insert had popped out. I took everybodies advise and and called All-Star (Shakespeare) and asked them to send me the whole tip top guide and I would replace it myself instead of me paying for shipping there along with sending them a $20 check. So I called their customer service line and talked with an absolute idiot. I think he had NO idea what I was even talking about. I think is answer to every question was, "Send it in". I called for three days straight at various times of the day and got the same idiot everytime. After the 3rd time I just started hanging up. Dodgeguy I think it was told me to email them and has had ood service that way. So I did. I got a response the next day and it said my guide was in the mail. This was around Dec. 20 or so. I went out of town for Christmas and New Years and expected the guide to be there by the time I got back. Nope. I just got it late last week. Now for the GREAT. I emailed Shimano because I saw a hat on their website that I wanted, but I saw no place to order it. They emailed me back that evening and said the hat was on it's way .......... FREE. I know it's not a real big deal to some, but it's a big deal in my book. I was already very fond of Shimano products, but after this I am a Shimano customer for life. BTW LBH, I know you don't want to hear this, but you need to stock up on Strike King Series 4S crankbaits in Firetiger (13). Those big Fork bass love'em. I think all the bass my dad and I caught over 5 lbs came off this crank including the 10-8. The best part about it is we got them at Cabela's in the clearance bin for $1.19 a piece (as I recall) the night before we left.
