  1. 3 lbs - Fun 4 lbs - Getting There 5 lbs + - Big
  2. I hear that. I usually hit it up one time a year as well. Never catch much if anything, but yet something tells me to go out there once evey year. So far I have stayed away. I think this year I might hit it up in the fall. Never fished it then. I am either headed out to Kill Creek or Gardner in the morning. I will be sure to post results.
  3. Well Raul ...... I prefer to think positive I land 100% of the bass I catch ...... Raul is right though. If you knew how many times a bass inhaled your bait and spit it out without you knowing it, it would probably make you sick. I highly recommend the Bigmouth video series. You'll find those bass are trickier than you thought. If the numbers above reflect "known" bites, then I would say everybody is pretty close. But also like other people have mentioned, it's really hard to put one number on it. I know for a fact though that my number is right on. ;D
  4. 6/6/06 - Leavenwoth County State Fishing Lake Put in about 5:30 am and fished to about 10:30. Between the two of us, we caught 14. Water temp was 73-76 and crystal clear. I caught 6 on a black Horny Toad buzzed across the tops of grass mats (sparse) until the sun came out and then that bite disappeared. Caught a solid three pounder doing that. My buddy caught 6 on a 5" junebug Dinger all fished on the outside edges of the grass mats in about 5-8 ft of water. Then I caught another two on a 6" watermelon Dinger wacky rigged on the outside edges of the grass mats. We were going to C-rig the main lake grassy points, but the T/M battery ran out of juice. (South wind was blowing pretty hard).
  5. Exactly!!!! At no time does that ad say anything about sex. We are the ones that automatically relate an assumed naked body to sex.
  6. And honest!!! ;D ;D I thought it was humorous the first few times I saw it (I guess I have serious issues) and now I think it's getting old and stupid. Do I think it's offensive ... absilutely not. What's the difference between that and going to the pool/beach and seeing some guy wearing a speedo.
  7. I thought I would start this thread so we can help each other out. My hopes for this thread is that it will be ongoing. After you go fishing, come in here and post your results ... good or bad. What worked, what didn't, lake conditions, etc. As much or as little detail as you would like. I figure that for those of us who can only get out one or two times a week, it could give us a good starting point. Like for instance, I can only usually go out during the week and others only usually go out during the weekend. So I know a lot of us fish the same lakes, so in theory we could have fishing reports for various lakes in the area that are a few days old.
  8. Exactly .... freshwater that is.
  9. Deeper Grass lines. Easy ...... "The bass are in the grass"
  10. I don't see a problem with keeping a few small bass every now and then. It's when I see people keeping bass that are 4+ lbs that gets to me. Those bigger bass are responsible for producing off spring every year. I also don't think it's right to keep any size bass during the spawn. Even the small males play an important part of guarding the eggs/fry from predators. Now that being said, you won't hear me saying anything. If your within the legal limits, there is nothing anyone can really say. The DNR dept. must know a lot more than we do. So if they say it's OK, then I guess I am mildly OK with it. Still won't see me keeping any. If I want to keep some fish (VERY rare) their are some much tastier fish out their IMO. Poor Richard's is right .... SLOT LIMITS IS WHERE IT IS AT except I don't think any big bass should be kept. My slot limit would be something like 15" to 35" ;D ;D ;D
  11. Come on LBH ... Show some decency!!!!!!! ;D ;D
  12. They are ALL sweet in my book, but there is just something about Bass Cats that always catch my eye.
  13. Only one way to find out ..... give'r a go. I would say if there is a food source, the bass will be there at one point or another.
  14. If you plan on paddling .... no. If you plan to use a trolling motor and/pr a small outboard .... yes. At least that's the rules in KS.
  15. Where do you want them??? Email?? PM?? How many?? I think it should include the LBH and KU huge PB Smallies ;D ;D
  16. Definitely not being a "sissy". That's what I call being smart. If you see lightning .... GETT OFF THE LAKE!!! It's just not worth the risk
  17. Actually they picture does have "some" history that relates back to Perry. The photo was found by Jerry Johnson when cleaning out his Aunt's things when she passed away. Research has shown that the Perry and Johnson familes are connected. (How?? .... the article doesn't say :-/) The palm trees in the back have also been identified today as to where Perry supposedly weighed the bass at the Helena Post office. The Palm Trees are still there today as well as the modernized Post Office.
  18. I see what you are saying, but there is no doubt that Mac Weakley "caught" the bass. There is eye witnesses and even video. I also think there is a pic with Weakley with the bass somwhere out there. It's just the one we are used to seeing is with his buddy. I always doubted whether THE BASS ever existed or not. Before I believed the WR about 10% or so. Now after this pic, it's more like 85%. There is still some holes in the story, but it's good enough for me to accept the record.
  19. LRod ... you know pictures are worth a thousand words ..... or in your case dollars ;D Awesome Gear!!!!!
  20. Your Welcome!!! ;D ;D That's what you call going above and beyond. It's the little things like this that make us customers feel good and a loyal customer for life. I just can't say enough about Shimano.
  21. Let's see the cave paintings then ;D I know I have a few somewhere around here. I know I have a couple of me at the always tough Trout Haven : reeling in some monster rainbow trout when I was real little. Here's a pic of me fishing in Colorado. I think I was in 7th Grade.
  22. That's kind of the way I felt too, but I still think there are some major doubts. For instance, Who is in the pic?? Why don't we have a pic with Perry in it?? The article said the pic was found in 2005 ..... Why make it public now?? Then there is always the photoshop issue. So do I 100% believe it ...... Not yet, but I believe it a whole lot MORE than before. Did you also notice that Bassmaster Mag put a little on the side hoping someone would see this pic and be able to answer some more questions. It kind of reminds me of that TV Show, "Unsolved Mysteries".
