  1. I like the way you go about fishing for certain species almost as much as the catching part. That's why I like bass fishing so much. I would love to take on some snook and redfish. They kind of remind me "bass fishing" in saltwater and it looks like they fight a bbbiiiitttt harder.
  2. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it a 7 As far as numbers go, they were way down compared to last year, but I would say my average size bass went up considerably (which was what I was shooting for). This year I really concentrated on catching those 5 lbs. + bass and thus far I have only caught 3 which was way way way down from last year, but my numbers of the 3+ lbs bass is way up. So it was just kind of so so as far as the catching goes. I also had a goal of catching an 8 lber and thus far I have not accomplished that ................. but I am not done yet. I maybe had one on that would have come close that got off right at the boat .... which I by the way had on video camera before that fell in the lake. I still think about that "one" quite often. That was the first big bass I have ever lost (at least that I have seen) and it still hurts. : On the technical side though I have a good year IMO. I have become more proficient with my electronics and thus my deep water fishing has improved tremedously and now probably prefer to fish that way. I also improved on my jig fishing. At the end of last year I was just starting to gain confidence in it and it continued into this year.
  3. That's was my point. You can fess up ... We all know it was you that fell. We won't laugh ........ too hard. ;D ;D j/k Of course I am one to talk. I have probably fell in the lake a few more times than I would like to admit. : That's good your friend is being cool about it. You know he probably feels like total crap about it too. I hope everything works out for you.
  4. "Back in the Sadle" - Aerosmith?? "Boom" - POD Lot's of good "hook set" points in there.
  5. I've noticed that too. He didn't post too much this summer either. I've also noticed a couple of my Kansas guys haven't been posting ....... Will and cgs2004
  6. :o Oink!!!!! Oink!!!!!! OK .... I think that will tide us over. That's truly inspiring to me. Inspires me to get off my butt and get out there and freeze it off. ...... Well actually I don't have a problem with the cold. It's the cold AND the rain. I'll do one or the other, but not both. It's going on 3 weeks since I've been out. :'(
  7. Suuuuurrreeee ....... Your "friend" slipped and fell on his butt. Really though ..... I am feeling for you big time. Hopefully you can get this thing worked out.
  8. Come on .... how about a teaser pic
  9. I agree. I saw this movie last week and it was one of the best I have seen in a while. It's a GREAT mob movie and unlike any other I have ever seen ..... dealing with the Irish mafia instead of the typical Italian. I'll give it 4 1/2 stars. One warning though besides the gore and language ....... This movie is kind of long, 2.5 hours. I wasn't expecting that so it kind of made the ending drag on and on. I am not saying the ending is bad, it's just when you expect a movie to be an hour and a half long, I felt like I was waiting for the climax and ending to happen the whole last hour.
  10. I've played 72 when I used to work at a golf course. ....... I never thought golf could be so tiring.
  11. We'll be waiting!!!!!! Shiners huh .................. ;D
  12. I just heard something today that was pretty interesting in regards to Rogers: He is the only player whose hat is completely "blacked" out under the brim. If you watch some replays, he strokes the brim of his hat, then takes his hands to his mouth (to warm them up), then the pitch. Kind of interesting. Personally I don't think pine tar is "cheating". If hitters get to use it .... why not pitchers??? It would take a bunch of pine tar (much more than was on his hand) and some time to pack it in the seams ...... that would be cheating.
  13. I had the same problem after about a year of use. It's at the bottom of a lake now (accident) and that will be the last Pfleuger I will ever buy.
  14. http://break.com/index/truly_amazing_blind_kid.html Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Atta baby!!!!!
  16. Man, that monkey has got you in his teeth, ;D ;D ;D Actually I think it's kind of a good way to go about learning how to use one. Buy yourself a descent combo and you will almost be forced in learning how to use one. I also think it's quite a bit easier to learn on a "new" reel instead of just some old POS that your buddy let you borrow to learn on. (At least that's how it went for me)
  17. I like it ALL. Name a genre and I can probably find something I like. My favorite would have to be country though. That fills up about 75% of my computer and Ipod.
  18. Mowing the lawn is not that important!!!!!!!
  19. And a good SECURE way to mount your tripod if you are fishing solo. :
  20. I notice they were both caught in the same spot.
  21. Ohhhhhhhhh ... Probably that time a couple winters ago when I would routinely catch a bass or two in the teens. I also had one outing where I caught 2 ... yes that's right .... 2 New World records and was culling 8 lbers and 9 lbers in one tournament outing. Unfortunately this was in my grandparents basement in Colorado when we were snowed in over Christmas break and I was playing PS2. For real .... last year in March and April. I caught my PB and my first and only double digit bass so far on Lake Fork. So I got to cross that off of my "Life List". #5 - Catch a double digit bass Then came home back to my home waters and the prespawn frenzy was on. I probably caught more bass either side of 5 lbs. in those to months than I had the rest of my fishing days combined. (Not like I had that many 5lber's previously, but it seemed like I was catching bigger bass a consistent basis for those two months) Then to top it off, the first bass I see on a bed on my home waters was a 8 lbs. 3 oz momma that took me two outings to catch. I spotted her around sunset one night and casted to her for about an hour in the pitch black with nothing. I came back sunrise the next morning and had her about noon. :-? :
  22. 1990 Camaro IROC-Z that was in absolutely PERFECT condition. Had 42,000 miles on it and was owned by an old man going through a divorce and did not want the wife to get a hold of his car. Bought it for $7000. Good car, fun times, great memories, but a stupid buy now that I look back on it. I also drove 600 miles to get it. This is the pic about 30 seconds after I saw my car for the first time.
  23. That's cool ... I have "only" ruined 2. I have Verizon so next time my plan is up or I have another accident (which ever is first :), I'll have to look into that. Welcome aboard!!!
  24. Actuuuaaalllllyyyy ... Let me take that back. THE prettiest one I have ever seen is the one on my thumb in my avatar. ;D ;D ;D I still kind of wish I would have went back to my motel room and got the "real" digital camera (My dad's fault) and more and better pics. But I wanted to ensure she would swim another day. She was purty though and not a mark on her.
