  1. Ahhhh yes. This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to fishing and feel pretty strong about it. I do my best to remove line I see at the lakes I fish. 75% of it comes from my trolling motor > >
  2. Strike King Series 4s Crankbait in Firetiger - For whatever reason my dad and I hammered them with this bait (including the one in my avatar) when we were down there a couple years ago. We found spawning areas with wood (that narrows it down ;D) and went to work. Lipless cranks in red, orange, chrome Flukes - I personally like watermelon with chartreuse tail in the prespawn Jigs - black, blue, green, brown Big worms
  3. These are the ones I am looking at, but I am open for suggestions. I would like to stay under $70 http://www.minnkotamotors.com/products/chargers/detail.asp?pg=mk110p They have this on sale at BPS for $50 plus a $15 mail in rebate Then I was at Wally World the other day and somebody mentioned they liked these chargers: I noticed they have a marine series http://store.schumachermart.com/ssc-1000a.html Then an Auto series, but it has a setting for marine deep cycle batteries http://store.schumachermart.com/sc-1000a.html What's the difference between these two??
  4. I was eagerly awaiting your report. I thought you were going to Alan Henry too??
  5. You could always drive your item there yourself :
  6. Stay away from the Rapala one.
  7. For the past 4 years, I have caught at least one rod/reel a year. I am hoping to keep that streak alive with a Steez combo this year. ;D I have caught a lot of strange stuff, basically all from one lake. The wierd stuff always seem to bite on DD22s. Last year in an all day deep crank-a-thon I caught an old old Coors can, followed by a bra, follwed by a pair of panties and then a lawn chair later in the day.
  8. It's all personal preference. For me the only reason I ever picked up a baitcaster was to pitch. I felt it was the only thing I couldn't do with a spinning rig. Now I am using all baitcasters. For me it works and that's all I use, finesse too. All I can say is try it and see what works best for you. Lots of people use both, lots of people use one exclusively. Niether are right or wrong.
  9. You know your dream can come true........
  10. Well I didn't find any seats last night. So, first I think I will try some fatter screws. That seems the easiest and least invasive on my seats. If that fails, then it's time to do something like Fluke and Mike suggested. Thanks
  11. Outstanding!!!!! That had to be an incredible experience.
  12. I caught a 4 something on Lake of the Ozarks off my buddies dock on a flying lure when they first came out. That was my PB for a few years. ;D I actually just ran across an un-opened box in the garage today ;D ;D
  13. BTW - An "experiment" not work???? Never. ;D
  14. :o :o I am out the door RIGHT NOW!!!!! Thank You ....... maybe ;D
  15. Man, Hot n Tot ... aka the Bait Monkey ;D
  16. Yeah Muddy, I think I have seen those. Are they the one's that don't fold down?? I would prefer the ones that fold down because they have to go in my vehicle when en route. I know, I am so particular : ;D That is by far the best price on those seats I have seen though. If I end up buying new seats, I will have to go check-out Wal-Mart. Thanks.
  17. Huh? My seats do not have pads ... I like that. I am not sure about the others. I have never paid attention to that when I have seen them in person. I see what you may be getting at ... rip the pads off??? But those things are like $30+ a piece. $60+ for a couple cheap plastic seats just doesn't sit well in my mind for some reason. :
  18. First off I have a boat similar to this. Please take notice to the seats. My problem is the screws that hold the seat to the swivel/bracket come loose and eventually fall out if I don't check them often, leaving seat a little unstable and tippy on top of the base. Here are some more pics: Here's the bottom of the seat assembly. As you can see one screw has fallen out. Here's one that's on it's way out. When they are like this, they also interfere with the seat swiveling smoothly. Here's the holes. You can also see some plastic shavings that the screws have taken out over time. And here's one of the screws. As you can see, it has stripped some of the plastic out with it I would like to do every thing possible not to buy new seats. I have the ones with out pads and thus far I have had no luck finding them. I am thinking about filling the whole up with some sort of adhesive (epoxy?), then re-screw the bracket back on. I've also thought maybe there is some sort of plastic filler out there. Fill the holes. Re-drill some holes, then attach. The more I think about that though, I don't like it unless maybe one of you guys have done something like this. Suggestions??? Epoxy ... yes/no??
  19. Good God!!! Those are some THICK bass. Nice catchn'
  20. Doug, I see you are in MO. So I assume you are fishing some cold water??? I went out for the first time the other day. I noticed there was quite a bit more memory than I was used to last year. I attribute that to the cold water. I had absolutely zero memory issues with it last year. I started using it in the end of May so all of my experience is with warmer water.
  21. Love the Gamma Co-Poly!! I use it for for everything in various line sizes except on my braid set-up.
  22. IMO your other two rods would be better for throwing treble hooked lures. I do not have and have not fished either, but from what I understand St. Croix's Med power Fast rods have a fairly soft tip making them better for treble hooked lures. I have also heard they are great general purpose rods. IMO XF would a little more technique specific. I am personally using it for weightless senkos (weightless), soft plastic jerkbaits, shaky head worms, and light jigs.
  23. ww2farmer is right on. I have the Legend Tounrey version and no way would I buy this rod specifically for crankbaits. I guess it would ok to use for shallow cranks and lipless cranks in a pinch, but not specifically for these techniques.
  24. Probably a couple times a year. I am talking about the days when you can almost "call your shot"
