  1. I really wish I had some spare cash. I am not even a Daiwa user, but for that price I would "try" one out. ;D ;D
  2. Take comfort in the good memories. My thoughts are with you and his family
  3. Sorry, but I am going to have to disagree there ;D ;D
  4. I bought a new computer about a year ago and lots of people on here recommended an AMD processors as well. A+++++++ I have never been let down by HP's.
  5. Don't tell LBH. He will make fun of you. ;D ;D I think secretly he has a whole stock I know what you mean. I put if off until last year. I saw more and more people wearing them around campus and I thought they were awful looking. Then I tried them on just for the hell of it at Dick's one time. Bought them right there. I will probably get another pair. At the time they only had black and they get pretty hot fishing in them. Ugly as hell, but comfortable.
  6. Menopause : Great fish man. Congrats on another DD. Love the pic of her swimming away. For some reason those pics always look cool to me.
  7. I agree with you on Dayton Moore, at least he is saying the right things. Now if Glass would just give him a little money to work with.
  8. Is that not the way you do it? ;D ;D ;D I guess I will try to keep the pressure on them. I realize that some fish will get off. That's just part of fishing. But I would like to take that number down from 1 or 2 out of 10 to more like 1 out 20.
  9. I try not to especially when fishing a jig because of my problems over the past couple years. But sometimes there is nothing you can do. When fishing other baits though I don't care as much. That's part of the fun of fishing.
  10. No problem there. There has been known to be "flying bass" around my boat at times. ;D Here's they way I think and why I do what I do (lowering the rod tip during a jump): If you give a bass some slack line while it jumps, it has no "leverage". For example, let's say someone ties a rope around your hand and you want to try to get your hand free of that knot. If the other person does not pull back (slack line) it will be very hard for you to get free. Now if that other person does pull back a little, you now have some force in the opposite direction which will help you get your hand free. Make sense?? Is that right??
  11. I'm right there with you. Royals fan till the day I die through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Hey all you big payroll teams ...... Don't worry. There is plently of young talent on this Royals team. We will break them in for you for the next 3 to 4 years so they can become All-Stars for you. The future is looking bright for you guys. : ;D
  12. Check!!!! On a sidenote: The Power of the Change Jar My Grandfather started getting me to do this from a pretty young age. It's amazing how much change you accumulate and not even really know it ...... or miss it. My grandparents have been going to Hawaii every 4-5 years simply on the change he saves. Pretty amazing.
  13. what is the proper thing to do??? I've always pointed my rod (down) where they are jumping. This doesn't seem to be cutting it over the past couple years. I lost what would have been my first descent bass of the season today. I bet I lose 1 to 2 bass for every 10 with jig when they jump. This seems to be the only troublesome lure. I am anal about sharp hooks so that's not the problem.
  14. Look at the top of this page.
  15. Congrats
  16. $100 for the Citica http://www.deloscustomtackleshack.com/reels/shimanocitaca.html My only gripe with Shimano is they don't offer a 100 size lower gear ratio reel in the Citica or Curado line. After switching all my other reels to 100 size my CU-200B5 I have left for cranking feels like a tank. I might be forced to go with a Daiwa Advantage . What is the world coming too. ;D
  17. I think once you get up to the quality brands they are all pretty good. Then it just becomes which brand fits you the best. For me .... I have had Costa Del Mars, Oakleys, H20 Optics, Bolle, Solar Bats, and I know I am leaving one out. My favorites have been the Costa Del Mars. Mainly because they are the most comfortable for me to wear all day long.
  18. I finally got it when somebody told me to think about it like going up a steep incline (a crankbait) on a mountain bike (the reel). Would you use the same gears to go up a steep hill and flat land? Sure it can be done, but if you used the same gears to go up that steep hill that you do on flat land you would wear yourself out very quick. IMO anything over a 10 ft diving crank needs to be fished on a lower gear ratio reel .... somewhere around a 5:1 or even lower. I personally use a lower gear ratio reel for all cranking because I just think it presents the bait better.
  19. I remember Ricky telling me stories of when he used to work for US Airways
  20. Nice catch!!!!
  21. OK, that was a spit my drink all over my computer screen one ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh yeah, and let me add ........ eewwwwww!!
  22. 10 lbs 8 oz (in my avatar) Strike King Series 4S crankbait bought from the Cabela's Bargain Bin right before I left for my trip. I was just looking for cheap square lipped crank because I figured I loose a few at Fork. 2 year anniversary is tomorrow. I will have a few minutes of silence tomorrow at 11:45 am. Feel free to join me. ;D
  23. I don't know if I would count on either Rush or Wright being back. Wright has said he will be back as of yesterday. Whether he stands behind that or not, who knows. I get the impression that he will. Rush said if he is a projected top 20 pick he will make a strong consideration to leave. Hopefully he will learn from the mistakes of his brothers and stay at least one more year. I also don't think his "family" is hurting for money. So hopefully he will take all that into consideration and look at the opportunity he has in front of him at KU. They have the potential to do something very special.
  24. :'( :'( Needless to say I am a little disappointed. It's just a little harder to swallow because we didn't play our best. All the easy baskets we missed were RIDICULOUS. I bet there was at least 20 points right there. But UCLA was the better team tonight. I am officially starting the 2008 Jayhawk campaign. ;D Everybody should be back
