Wow a 2 page thread about the Chiefs and only one Chiefs (now 2) have chimed in. Personally I think we gave up too much. I even thought it was too much when we were rumored to be giving up a 4th when the rumors started around and after the Superbowl. Now a high high second this year and potentially a second next year?!?!!?! Advantage 49ers. My problem isn't so much with Smith himself. I think he is a descent QB. Middle of the road if you will. In my opinion the Chiefs already had that in Cassel. Yes the last couple years have been awful, but he put up good #s with the Patriots and with the Chiefs when we had Charlie Weis as the OC. The KC coaching staff, especially on the offensive side of the ball, has been a train wreck. I think Cassel has proven that as long as he has a good coaching staff in place (which I think we have now) he can put up pretty good #s. Career Numbers: Alex Smith- 81 Tds, 63 Ints, 79.1 QBR, 59.3% cmp Matt Cassel- 82 Tds, 57 Ints, 80.4 QBR, 58.9% Overall I am just sick of the QB approach from the Chiefs in my lifetime. We've always had "game managers". Other teams back ups. They don't even attempt to draft and develop a stud QB anymore. For you non-KC fans or followers think about this .... The Chiefs have not won a game with a QB they drafted since 1987. I am not saying that stud QB is in this draft, but this trade I think seals the deal that we will be going with Smith for the foreseeable future. I would have rather seen us keep Cassel and the picks and try and find and develop a QB. And keep picking them until you find one. I hope I am dead wrong.

For what it is worth I plasti dipped my wheels on a 4runner I used to have. I mainly did it as a temporary thing to see if I liked black wheels before I actually bought black wheels. After almost 2 years (2 winters with road treatments and 2 seasons of fishing and hauling a boat down dirt/gravel lake roads) there was just no need for me to replace them with actual black wheels. They held up amazingly well.

I rarely have cash. I might be the complete opposite of most people, but I find when I have cash in my wallet I am more likely to make dumb purchases. There is something about actually seeing transactions on my debit card every night online that seems to hurt more.

I shot a Beretta M9 for the first time last weekend. I am in love. What a gun!!!

We caught them shallow and deep. I have a loose connection somewhere with my sonar so that crapped out about 30 minutes in. Seems like we had the most success when I set the boat about 2 casts worth from the dam. So fairly deep. I didn't get a measurement.

I I don't think it matters. When I first started fishing it I was wondering the same thing. I quickly noticed I was getting bit using either half.

I haven't been on this thread much this year, but I did get out today. Probably last time this year ... which is a shame because they still seem like they are wanting to eat. My dad and I fished Melvern and I would guess between the 2 of us we probably caught 35ish. Mostly smallies, a couple largemouths, and an 8lbs Drum. Maybe 4 smallies in the 3lbs + range. Action seemed to come in waves with the bigger fish coming in the "dead" periods. I did catch my PB smallie of 4 lbs 7 oz. Was a nice day to be out there.

Any tips on keeping mice out of your boat over the winter? This will be my 4th winter storing my boat at this barn on a farm. First 2 years were no problem. Last year there were mice droppings everywhere. I completely empty out all my compartments so there is no "food" source in my boat. They however brought food into my boat. My neighbor said Bounce sheets work? Anything else?

I was asleep when it happened. Around 11:00 central I stumbled into my Comp 1 class. I never turned on the radio or the tv before I got to class. People were talking about it, but I really did not comprehend the magnitude of it. My Comp 1 professor popped his head into the class room and said class was canceled and that he was going to get a TV feed to the mini movie theater that was by our classroom. About that time I realized it must be a lot bigger deal than I was picturing in my head. I went into the theater and was just blown away by what I was seeing. I sat there with many many people in pretty much dead silence watching what was going on until late afternoon.

So glad somebody with a pulse is at the helm. All this stuff about how great of a man Turner Gill was, maybe true, but he was a FRAUD as a football coach. I still can't believe Charlie Weis is the football coach at KU. Should be interesting.
