  1. Hold on!!!!! ..... I need to make it official with the picture. I can't take that 5 point deduction ;D ;D ;D Now it's official
  2. Post my entry here are the other thread?
  3. I think the lakes have froze, unfroze, and froze again about 5 or 6 times the last month. This has to be the longest February in history. :'(
  4. I try my best not to eat late at night, but if I must toast with peanut butter. While fishing ..... pistachios and water or gatorade
  5. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D That's great
  6. Bingo on that second one!!!!!!! I bought the one in the first link last year. The hooks were CRAP!!! They were sharp, but very light wire and VERY brittle. Thanks
  7. Yep college sports is so "pure". For the love of the game :
  8. Has to have a good stout 4/0 of 5/0 hook as well
  9. Title says it all. Anything out there?
  10. I bought that reel thinking I would like the flipping switch. In the end I ended up hating it. I hit the switch WAAAYYYYY too many times while making a hookset. I lost more fish than I gained from the switch.
  11. I don't think you need one unless you are going to have employees. If you are the only employee then I believe you just use your social security number. A Tax ID is for FICA and not sales tax ..... I think. I believe there is some other license you might have to get from the state level for sales tax
  12. I agree. IMO no need to spend big money on a crankbait rod
  13. That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the input guys
  14. First "cast" has to be a dud. I basically just drop it right at the boat and get it out of the water as quickly as possible. Can't catch one on the first cast.
  15. WOW!!! You can really see the time you put into them
  16. It only takes one big one for me to call it a day. There are very few occasions when I think catching #'s is fun .... 1. That day in the spring, right when the lake really starts to wake up from the winter. My usual bait of choice is a lipless crankbait. The number of fish you catch is only limited by the number of casts you can make. I seem to catch smaller fish on average, but there are usually a couple quality fish in there. That's what keeps me going and is about the only time I will stick with a technique that is catching #s. Because normally if you are into #s, you need to switch something up to get the big girls. Kind of gets you pumped for the rest of the season. 2. Topwater bite. Never get sick of seeing that no matter what the size. 3. Taking a newbie or kid fishing
  17. I am looking at adding this rod to the arsenal. I was originally going to wait to build this rod myself, but I am at least a year away until I can start to dabble with rod building and I am getting impatient. I NEED it THIS SEASON :-? : About 85% of my jig fishing is done fishing deeper structure in fairly open water. So what I am most concerned about is the castability of this rod. Will it load up properly with a 3/8 oz jig and able to make fairly long casts? The H rating is what concerns me a bit. Is it safe to assume the 844 is more like a MH. Think the 843 might be a better choice? Opinions? Comments? This will be my first Loomis so I am all ears Thanks
  18. If your going to invest in a quality pair of sunglasses, be sure to try them on PERSONALLY. Make sure they fit your face right. Costa designs them that way. The different models are different sizes and are designed to fit different size faces. So my favorite model might not be the best for you and vice versa. IMO sunglasses are the single most important piece of fishing gear!!!!! Invest in your eye sight!!!!!!!!
  19. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Yes!!!!!!
  21. My best friend is Pharmacy school right now. If there is a question you would like me to pass on to him, PM me
  22. I tried the one the Java drinks the other day ...
  23. I know how that goes :. For my first three years I had a scholarship that bought a big portion of my books. When I sold them back, ALL of that money was spent on fishing gear.
  24. Nice!!!!! As of last year, I don't have no stinkn spinning gear either.
  25. That extra 2 ft is HUGE when it comes to fishing with 2 people
