  1. I bought one late last year in the Bargain Bin at Cabelas ... I want to say it was less than $10 Anyways, QUESTION: Just how much drag do those things put out? Like enough to pull the boat under? To tell you the truth I am kind of scared to use it ..lol. I just have this picture in my head of it dragging whatever side of the boat it is connected to under water : ;D Is that just stupid or what? Also, mine didn't come with any ropes (maybe the reason it was so cheap). Any specific suggestions?
  2. Works for me. Sure the UCLA fans feel the same way, too. Its all about seeding (pods) and revenue. Number one team in the nation, and number 1 seed, should be allowed to play close to home. We the fans have been supporting them all season. Nice to see them playing locally in the NCAA. Go Heels! But it doesn't always work out that way ..... ie ... Last year KU (as a #1) had to play UCLA (#2) in SoCal This year in all likelihood Memphis #1 will have to play Texas #2 in Houston I am all fine and dandy with #1's getting to play in their own backyards. That's suppose to be the advantage of being a #1. As it is right now seedings can either mean everything or nothing. There needs to be some consistency.
  3. Did he really ask that question or did I finally finish off that 12 pack? dude jump all over me for asking a question i was just wondering because i could tell there had been some tweaking of background i myself am a skilled photoshopper and could make some pics of me "supposably" catching some monsters, i wasent trying to make any one mad i was just wondering and stating a fact > Low clouds Inspiring pics man!!! Can't wait to get out and toss these swimbaits around
  4. REALLY read the instruction manual. I mean like REALLY understand it. Take it with you while you fish. Spend some time messing around with it while you fish. Notice what the screen looks like when you are over something YOU KNOW FOR SURE is on the bottom ..... like over a big grassy flat, or the concrete boat ramp, sand, mud, rocks, a sunken Christmas tree, etc etc etc. Triton_Mike posted an AWESOME tutorial on here a couple years ago. It might be worth trying to find that. I know it helped me out big time. And like muddy said, turn the Fish ID off.
  5. West Virginia can pad my normal late fall. Looks like I was the only one to pick them over Duke. I also have them going to the Elite 8 : :-/
  6. I am Dustin Johnson, your Round 1 leader btw ;D ;D That's OK. Seems like I am always near or in the lead after the first round and then I slowly fall back. Happens every year. In this one the last couple years and the ones I do with my buddies. Gonna be some good games today and tomorrow
  7. DUDE!!! Get a scale!!! That's a HAWG!!!!!
  8. I got out for the first time today. I only got one bite but it was a hell of a THUMP. Problem was I just kind of stood there in a daze. It was like: THUMP "Cool I just got a bite" "Wow there goes my line swimming off" "Man it's great to be fishing again" "OH CRAP, I NEED TO SET THE HOOK" ;D ;D ;D Set the hook but it was too late : I think I have a little winter rust to shake off 2008 Bass -1 KU - 0
  9. I have read in several different articles that it takes a bass about 3-4 hours to really adjust to the light change. Me too and the logic behind it seems to make sense. For instance ... In my limited night fishing trips (maybe around 15 total trips) I have found that the bite seems to suck around 9:00ish and seems to pick back up somewhere around 1 am. That would be about the 3 to 4 hours needed for their eyes to completely adjust and feel secure. Then I think it also makes a lot of sense for the mid day bite people talk about. After the sun completely rises, there seems to be that quick hour or two mid day bite. Again maybe they need another 3 to 4 hours for their eyes to completely adjust to light??
  10. Portland State winning it all??? ;D ;D No upsets so far .... that's no fun. :
  11. THAT'S IT!!!!!! That's where I heard it. I knew it was from a pretty credible source.
  12. I am soooo pumped. The next 4 days are just about my favorite days of the year. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!!!
  13. It's all so relative. I would say Tiger is climbing up the charts of "The Most Dominating Athlete of All Time" That title would consider all athletes in their own element
  14. Well I went to try to find my post last year about my first outing with fishinng lipless cranks with a lower gear ratio reel ...... couldn't find it :-/ Then I went to try to find the article on here. After a quick look and I couldn't find that either. I did however read an article explaing to do the exact opposite of what I do : ;D. I must have got this idea someplace. All I know it has worked for me
  15. I believe I read an article on here last winter about fishing lipless cranks. The article went into depth about a common mistake a lot of anglers make is thinking they have to have a "burner" reel to fish lipless cranks. That was me. I was fishing 6:1 reels as fast as I could. I took the articles recommendation and started throwing cranks on my slower 5:1 reels. I easily caught more bass on lipless cranks than any other year. I am a believer now.
  16. 10 lbs 8 oz Lake Fork March 25, 2005
  17. Pistachios (chewed like sunflower seeds)
  18. I would have to say that is one of the best I have ever heard
  19. That's a fisrst DD with a BANG!!!! Congrats
  20. It's really my only complaint with the boat .... the freakn wind. Up to 15 is doable, but still kind of a pain if you are trying to use finesse applications. When it gets close to 20 you are probably better off staying home >. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of the warm days early in the spring also come with strong winds. Good to see the temps rising.
  21. Congrats!!!! Happen to get a water temp and where did you go? I am hoping to get out late this week for the first time.
  22. I'm in!!! BTW - ejtyalor, you might want to change the title of your original thread to let people know there is a pool here now.
  23. I maybe a little bias .... but I like KU ;D ;D Seriously I think Tennessee is dangerous. Problem is looks like they will be in KU's bracket. :-/ Even though we just beat Texas, I still think they are a FORCE and it looks like they will get to play in Texas should they make it the round of 16. So other than my bias KU opinion, I am looking at Tennessee and Texas to make some noise.
