  1. Go Flames!!
  2. It's only been open for 6 or 7 years now. Dink capital of KS, but a fun little lake to fish none the less. Plus they have a few smallies swimming around in there. The odds aren't good though. I have caught 1 out of the probably close to 600 bass I have caught out there. And there was a couple trips when I specifically targeting them. I did not catch the 1 on one of those trips. ;D
  3. This is how it starts. You find one song you like. Then maybe a few more ... and a few more .... and ..... Happened to me 13 years ago and now it's what I listen to 90% of the time.
  4. Excluding all the hippie stuff, I thought it was good. I would kind of like to do the same thing one day to some degree. I wouldn't cut my self off or anything, but it would be cool to travel from coast to coast experiencing everything in between.
  5. I meet up with a few of my good high school buddies every Thursday night to have a few drinks. I am usually home by 11:00 at the latest. Well there was NO way any one of us was leaving until that games was over. With every overtime came another beer. Tomorrow morning work is going to be kind of tough. What a game!!!! I think it's one of those games where I will remember exactly what I was doing when I look back on it years down the road. Good night .....
  6. He doesn't get to go fishing with me as much as he would like, but he gets to go a few times a year. There is only so much room for a 110 lbs dog in a 10 foot boat. If I had a bigger boat I would take him more often. Deuce
  7. I did something fairly similar, probably dumber, last fall. I was sending my "rough draft" resume out to recruiters and online job boards for about a month and half. And I mean a very rough draft. There was absolutely no format except for the header. All the rest of it was basically brain stormed phrases I came up with one day to help me write my resume. Luckily I landed a temp job through a friend for a few weeks. When I went to update my resume, I finally discovered my mistake. :-[ :-[ Finding a job was still tough as hell, but at least then I was getting some interest and interviews (just about immediately). I worked 3 more temp jobs over the next 4 months and I finally landed a regular full time job that I just started Monday. It's not really what I want to be doing, but it's good enough for now until the job market starts turning round. Good Luck!! Keep your head up
  8. Looking for some "real life" feedback. Likes? Dislikes? Real life gas mileage? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  9. The Banjo Minnow worked for me. Just hated the hassle you had to go through. I also did OK with the Flying Lure. Both were gifts from my grandmother who got caught watching late night infomercials. The Helicopter Lure was a different story. <--- My dumbest purchase.
  10. Oh man I caught what I guess was the 2nd episode. I was in tears!!! That character is great. He reminds me of an Uncle Rico, but dirtier. ;D ;D
  11. I'm pumped.
  12. Commie Say what you want, but in my family only the girls eat mint chocolate chip ice cream... ;D We all know that peanut butter and chocolate is the world's greatest union. My thoughts exactly. I mean come on, "THIN MINTS"? Sounds like something you have to put a skirt on to eat. ;D ;D
  13. I can. I can't watch the weigh ins because of my ISP either. The BASSCAST is pretty cool. I just saw Jami Fralick catch a descent one and cull.
  14. This is also a Brad Paisley song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoBmCl-q_54
  15. Of course who ever stole it is a low life SOB, but .... Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
  16. My first time I went the first place we went was to the pits. John Force was doing his warm up thing and my buddy told me to go up there and watch. So I did. I had the best seat in the house. Front row and center. Had no clue what to expect. So first off I see most of the guys on his crew put on gas masks. That alarms me a bit, but there is tons of other people standing around me without so I think I must be safe. So they start 'er up. It's loud, but not really what I was expecting. About 30 seconds in or so I see the people around start to plug there ears. I am like ... jeez what a bunch a pansies. Then it happens!!!! They goose it (or set the clutch like you say). I don't know what was worse .... my heart skipping a beat, the paint running down the front of my leg, or the crap running down the back up my leg. ;D ;D Then the Nitro starts hitting me and I feel like I am about to suffocate. The gas masks and ear plugs all make sense now. ;D All the while my buddy and his dad are in tears laughing at me from a distance. I got to repay the experience to a first timer last year. Yeah it was pretty d**n funny to watch.
  17. I went to my first NHRA race a couple years ago. A buddy of mine had been going every year for a long time and he was all over my butt every year to tag along. Reluctantly I went. Probably one of the top 10 coolest experiences in my life. Just no words to describe it. I plan on going back every year.
  18. Hmm ... I didn't know that some areas didn't have their CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC, etc. in HD yet. Thought by now if you have cable, then HD is available. HD via satellite is available for everyone though ... right? I still don't get whole movie rental thing. IMO if you are a person that watches a lot of movies, a subscription plan is the way to go. I went back and checked my Netflix plan. It's $8.99, and $9.67 with tax. I had no clue there was tax on that. :-/ Call it $10 if you would like. 1 day rental from Blockbuster? I haven't been to one in over a year probably, but ours around here were either 3 or 5 day. Which was really 6 and 10 before you got hit with any penalties. I personally am not a fan of Blockbuster though. Their subscription plan similar to Netflix used to be great. Then they hiked the prices up and limited the rentals. With all these other alternatives the Blockbusters around here are dropping like flies. Oh yeah, and then there are the $1 a night Redboxes. I was using that quite a bit before I started my Netflix back up. So I guess for me personally I think the idea is kind of cool and could definitely see it going to something like this in the future, but IMO this is not IT.
  19. Maybe I am missing something.... So you have to buy this box for $230 - Then you have to rent TV shows for $2 to $3 a pop you could have and probably did DVR for "free" - Rent movies for $4 to $5 a pop. How is that any better than going to Blockbuster? Or better yet Netflix? For $9 a month I get 2-3 DVDs in the mail a week plus there is a bunch of movies I can watch online. - Play your iTunes through your home stereo ... If that's your main reason for purchasing, wouldn't an iPod be a better choice there - Look at pictures on your TV ... There is lots of other ways to accomplish that - Watch YouTube videos on your TV ... give me a break I will be the first to say I don't know much about Apple TV, but on the surface it seems kind of dumb. Am I missing something?
  20. When Harry Met Sally always catches me whenever it's on TV. You've Got Mail too. On a side note ... a chick friend of mine invited me over for a movie night. She rented Good Luck Chuck. I was not excited about that. I thought it was going to be a total chick flick. WRONG!!! I now own it. ;D ;D It's pretty raunchy.
  21. Let's see ... I have the Master The pre-Spring Mater The pre-Spring Fishing Master The Spring Mater The Spring Fishing Master The pre Spring post Winter Master The pre Spring post Winter Hunting Master The pre Spring post Winter Fishing Master The post New Year Master The post New Years Fishing Master The "Oh look" It's Tuesday Master The "Oh look" It's Tuesday Fishing Master The pre "Oh look" It's Tuesday Master etc etc etc etc Yeah I am getting sick of them.
  22. In regards to the previous two posts .... I totally agree with you, however I have heard the D90 is different. It supposedly has a fully capable and quality video recorder. Like I said though, this is just what I have heard. No first hand experience. Nikon has some sort of forum that a friend of mine is active on. Nikonians.com or something like that. Might be able to find better info over there. If you happen to get it please post a review. I hope to buy my first DSLR in the near future and the D90 has really piqued my interest.
  23. Last time Matt posted about the Share-a-lunker program it got me thinking. That was really the first thing I had ever read opposing the program and I think I agree with him more and more to a degree. I think the program has been GREAT for producing "trophy" bass, but what has it really done for "world class" bass. I will be the first to say I am no expert in genetics, lake management, etc, but IMO the current program has achieved it's objective. Maybe some modifications need to be made ...... cap the numbers donated per year, cap the number per lake, create a "slot limit" for donations, maybe run the program every 2-5 years ..... who knows. BTW - This has been a very entertaining, informational and eye opening thread.
