  2. I ALWAYS use braid when fishing a frog. I fish them in really heavy matted grass or lily pads. You really have to let the bass have it before you set the hook. I say that only land somewhere around 2 out of 3 of the bites I get. It's just hard when you see somethig explode on it not to set the hook, but it is a must. Why braid? First off it cuts through the grass much better than mono. Also you might only catch a 5 lbs. bass, but that bass more than likely will have 10lbs. of grass that comes along with it. I wouldn't throw anything less than 20 lbs. mono, but I think you would be better off with braid.
  3. I like all the options except A. I have always found on my home lakes that bass will bury themselves in the grass when a cold front comes through because the grass acts like a blanket and will retain heat. Flipping where two different types of cover meet is ALWAYS a good choice. Cove that are shielded from a north wind will always be a littl less affected by cold fronts. I like C through E to start the day off and then maybe move onto B when the water temp starts to rise through out the day.
  4. To me it sounds like the males are starting to roam the shallows looking for places to bed. The females are still in between the winter and prespwn staging periods. Sounds like you should be able to get a pretty quick limit doing B through E (what happened to D ;D), then I would hunt for the big mommas the rest of the day in the channel (A). And also work the parts of the channel the come closest to spawning areas very heavily.
  5. When you spend a good portion of your college loans on new fishing gear.
  6. Danica Patrick Cosco or Sam's Club
  7. I am up anywhere from 3-5. Depends on where I have to drive. I load the truck and the boat up the night before so I won't have to in the morning. Sit on the throne and read a bassmaster magazine to get me in the mood and get out anything that might want to come out while on the water. Pack a water jug and recheck to make sure I have everything packed. Pick up my buddy. Hit a McD's for breakfast. On the water no later than 5:30 this time of year. I wish I could do it everyday.

  11. Drink plenty of water!!!! I used to (haven't yet this summer for some reason) pack a cooler filled with ice and around 3 or 4 wash clothes. I put them on the back of my neck. It really hits the spot. I don't know why (medically) when you put something cold on the back or your neck it cools your whole body, but it does.
