  1. It's a great little lake. Like I said I caught that 8 there this spring along with a handful of 5's. I have only fished there once this summer and had a pretty good day. My buddy caught is PR of 4.5.
  2. If I told you I would have to kill you.... just joking. ;D Lone Star Lake just south of Lawrence and Clinton Lake. I knew someone would beat me out. That is one hawg Chris. Where did you catch it at? I don't think anyone is taking you over.
  3. I GOT THE VIBE. Caught a 4.2, a 5.2, a 5.8, and 6-8 lbs fish story. I posted in Outings with pics.
  4. I am new to night fishing, just went for the first time on Thurs. night, but I did some homework. I stumbled across a ton of articles and many of them said the best bite will be after midnight. Bass can see in the dark much better than we can, but their eyes take a whole lot longer to adjust. I also read an article that predicetd that in the month of July and August, 90% of a bass's activity is between 12:00 am and 5:00am. I would dig some of those articles up for you, but duty calls.
  5. Had to go down to Texas for that one. Biggest one I have caught in Kansas was this spring 8 lbs. 3 oz. I was sight fishing for her and it actually took me two days to catch it. I spotted her right at sunset and worked her for a good hour or so. I came back the next morning at sunrise and didn't catch her until 10:30 am. At the same lake I found a dead 26 inch. Didn't have a scale, but I think it could have been a state record.
  6. Just woke up from my nap. I am also heading out at midnight. I have a feeling one us is going to have a hell of a story for tommorow. One of us needs to at least catch a 6+. THE FORCE IS WITH US!!!!! Good luck all!!!!
  7. I win so far ;D. But I know there are guys on this board with some 13's and 14's. Mine 10 lbs. 8 oz., 25 1/2 inches. (In the picture)
  8. Cast.......reel...........hang on ;D. I usually use them in 8ft. of water or less. My favorite place to use them is along tree lines.
  9. Whoops, forgot to say motorcycles, ATVs, and keyboards.
  10. That whole Yamaha, G3, Skeeter thing has always confused me too. Think about the products that Yamaha sells..............Outbaords, personal watercraft, jetboats, sportboats, guitars, pianos, drums, stereo equipment, ampifiers, TVs, projection equipment, speakers, and my dad used to have yamaha golf clubs. That is one diverse company. I actually did a mini paper for my marketing class this year.
  11. For soft plastics I am starting to believe that you only NEED a few colors. Black and blue, blue and black, and some shade of green. That's about all I have used this year, except for sight fishing, and have had good sucess. I have been trying to cut down on the amount of tackle I carry. If I carry all my tackle with me the floor of the boat looks like a disaster area at the end of the day. I still carry every crankbait and spinnerbait color under the rainbow though.
  12. I am going out tonight for the first time so I posed about the same question you asked: http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=gen_bass;action=display;num=1121738138 I post the results once as soonm as I get back.
  13. Here's your typical answer. T-Rig for shallow and in heavier cover. C-Rig in deepwater. Both can be fished just about everywhere though.
  14. Live bait Vanilla or Chocolate
  15. Thanks fror the tips guys. I am going to a lake I know like the back of my hand so hopefully I will be able to navigate my way with no problem in the dark. I should have plenty of lighting. I have a black light latern and two black light head lamps. My gameplan is to launch around midnight. I am going to take very little tackle. I am going to bring three rods: one with a black and blue jig w/ a rattle, a C-rig rod probably with a 7" Black and Blue dinger, and another rod with a buzz bait or jitterbug, and just the necessary terminal tackle like extra hooks, weights, pocket knife, and pliers. About Bug spray: I have heard that bass are EXTREMELY turned off by deet which is in most bug sprays. Are there any alternatives?
  16. Man he sucks!!!!! ;D Totally agree with that. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!!
  17. If it's laying over on top of the water then I like a frog. If its just thick and not laying over on top, then I would opt for a weightless plastic or a jig.
  18. Kansas City Area - Baby Bass Patterened Crankbaits, Wacky rigged dingers, 7" Dingers C-rigged, YUM Wooly Hawg Tail
  19. Duh!!!!!! Who would of thought there would be a bunch of articles on this site about night fishing. : Anyways I found some basic info and have a gameplan, but any other tips would still be appreciated. Now I am even more pumped to go. Hopefully I will be posting some lunker pics come Friday morning.
  20. With temps the last couple weeks in the mid 90's and humidity at 100000000000000% I think I am going to give night fishing a try. I have only stayed out past dark to around 10:30 or been on the lake a hour or so before the sun comes up. So staying out all night is a new to me. The lake I will be fishing main structure are docks and weeds. I caught quite a few bass this spring in the 5 to 6 pound range, but since mid June I haven't caught anything over 3. I just haven't been able to find any productive deep water. I think since it's been hotter the big ones have gone waaaaay back under some docks. Some of these docks are huge and there is absolutely no way to get anything under them. I was thinking maybe at night that they would maybe at least come out to the edges and be a little more catchable. I was just wanting to know if I should hit the same spots I hit during daylight hours or should I be looking for something special? What kind of baits should I use and what color? Dark or bright colors? Vibration? I am either going on Wed night/Thurs. morning or Thurs. night/Fri. morning. Which would be better. There is a full moon on Thursday, so which of the two would be better? Also, what are the best times or does it matter? Any other things I ought to know? Thank you in advance. I am really looking forward to turning to the dark side. ;D
  21. I think they have been running that sale all throughout July. I got 3 of every color back at the beginning of the month. I am set for a while. ;D
  22. college basketball, merely for the tournament. If football went to a tourney I would have to give the nod to football. World Series or super bowl
  23. Jitterbug sweet tea or regular tea
  24. Senko forever ocean front house or a lake front house on your favorite lake
