  1. If it ain't broke/braking don't fix it. That being said, after a couple years of annual services you might have dartanium washers degrade or become more brittle. The carbontex option is a cheap alternative for better strength and drag power, I can't comment on the drag because I don't really tighten my drags. From what I've read from other reviews for Carbontex is they are more powerful, don't know how much more powerful (pound vs pound comparison) but I will have to take their word for it. I replaced dartaniums out of one 51e because I had a grip issue with it tearing down a reel, now I know I have hand problems but the washer was weaker than the others, it needed to be replaced and te carbontex was a cheap easy option. Now was it worth switching all of them out after I tried one, not really. In time when there is play money not ready to be spent ill outfit all my other reels with them for a longer lasting washer.
  2. Get checked out by your doctor so you can find out what's wrong and take a proper course. Figure out the origin before you try anything.
  3. That sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome from how you get relief.
  4. I watch my guides freeze when I reel in, aka I don't stop fishing
  5. It's true. You could probably throw some musky inline spinners like a the musky killers and the big spinnerbaits for targeting bass. I know some musky guys end up catching bass on accident with those and it pees them off.
  6. In before 'slonezp'...
  7. He said Pa I don't use those kind of swimbaits, I don't even have swimbait specific rods, more of a crankbait guy actually
  8. Out of the wrong eye
  9. The next seasons preview photos are out already and they aren't showing carol in them, think she's gone for good next season.
  10. Sweet pig!! Nice accomplishment!
  11. We all know real enthusiasts have no less than 6
  12. Long as you happy, seems like you have a full compliment of rods and will be prepared for any situation now. Rod technology has come a long way in recent years, it nice to have good rods at lower prices.
  13. It's a big misconception that swimbaits only work in california, since the craze started there. They work wherever a hungry bass is
  14. Or Lews has the Chee on your wallet
  15. Braid is cheap nowadays, just wing it
  16. One thing you have to realize is a rods deflection will remain constant whereas the length of your line with determine how much stretch will occur. the longer the length, the longer the dispersing for the stretch. The rod is meant for the specific action it's going to receive.
  17. You never know if you need to fix something if you're inside http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Technical-Imperial-Orbital/dp/0804176612%3FSubscriptionId%3D11V4BFFP7Y247FYTQ882%26tag%3Dkinjamod-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3D0804176612&ascsubtag=%5BpostId|1458070051%5Basin|0804176612%5BauthorId|5717343349271019063%5Breferrer|www.rerolled.org%5Btype|mod-image
  18. Everyone has the "I lost the state record" story. Why can't they be more creative and say "I had the world record"
  19. We got the Cabelas Tournament auto inflatable, under $200. Oh my I just checked the link for you and their on sale for $100 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/Life-Jackets-Vests/Inflatable-Life-Jackets|/pc/104794380/c/104741280/sc/104399280/Cabelas-Tournament-3500-Auto-Inflatable-Personal-Flotation-Device/1546036.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FN%3D1100590%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253BBRprd1308983&WTz_l=SBC%3BBRprd1308983%3Bcat104399280 Wish I could get my $140 back for two of them... It's a sign for you to buy it!
  20. A spook with go far on any rod. You said you had an accident so don't change your results entirely on that. Go back out and try it again with out loosening the drag so you know how it'll be. As a note, mono is usually what people use for throwing topwater
  21. They did because there wasn't rods on the market when they came out. It runs great with a moderate rod that can handle the weight. Cranking it isn't a challenge and feels like a 6XD's slightly bigger brother.
  22. I prefer using a fluke in weedy/woody areas
  23. Good choice, you should check out the st croix eyecon trolling 8' 2 piece. It acts like a true cranking rod. It really doesn't have a rating but works perfectly.
  24. Its more wear on the body casting it than cranking it. Sorry Martin, I didn't see your thread.
  25. Quite enjoyable actually, we use a 6'10MLXF, a 7'MLF, and a 6'9MLF. The 6'9 being a vendetta which feel stiffer than many other ML but once the fish is on its not bad. Of course they can, we even use ultralights to catch plenty of bass in the 2-3 range with some 4's in there.
