  1. $10 berkley cheapos from wallyworld, can't beat the price.
  2. It worked for Consumer Reports
  3. It just seemed like there was a fast transition from winter to summer without having a real spring. It's much different than last year.
  4. Your line can be cut by the break/crack
  5. I'd have to say it was when I called shimano service up and asked them what a better rod was since theirs broke on me and the guy said "try a different brand, I don't know" That led me in the hands of St Croix
  6. I take it everyone has a boat?
  7. I actually chose a combo of the St Croix premier and stradic, since the stradic was on sale at time equalling $250 after tax. Great combo if you don't go with the avid. Unfortuately the stradic was on sale at cabelas not BPS
  8. I needle scratch the diving depth on the top of the bill
  9. A bit more info from you would help out better, like size/type of line you use, type of rod (length/ action), how you are exactly using the baitcaster, tensions/brakes etc I wouldn't doubt that guy looked into the dumpster after he said that to you and picked it up
  10. No Facebook here, been telling others about the site though
  11. If they know the lake well enough they could be catching much. The lake I mainly fish, almost everyone asks each other since it's not big, bass are densely populated, they are hard to locate, the average depth is around 6-8ft. At times it gets to the point if you catch a 2-3lb bass the whole lake knows
  12. A type-R decal, how fast is that in the 1/4mi??
  13. Well the family had a blast the first time up last month, through we shore fished primarily two spots, one around the monument and the other was the Lawrence Pier (public access walkway) which was very successful compared to the monument area. The bay is huge with many spots but I'm wondering if theres more area to cover while we're up there, going to spend around 4 days up there and like know more spots to fish without going on private property or getting skunked. Either the ponds, the bayfront shorelines, or the Isle, like to know more areas to fish Also any tips/tricks would be helpful
  14. So what's the sad part using senkos? I agree with little ones clinging on to the unhooked portion, fish love senkos and will hold on for their ride for a bit.
  15. Had one break on me, wouldn't buy one again. Sensitivity was adequate.
  16. The bail could have tripped when casting, that makes a loud snap
  17. Whatever floats your boat. My smartphone is my radio, tv, and weather. I don't need to be stuck at home using it. It's a great tool with a many useful features
  18. With thousands of apps you'll find out. From weather channel, police scanners, traffic, local news, how to tie knots, craigslist to see the good deals locally etc. Whatever you're into there's apps out there. Echolink for HAM radio, GPS fishing maps for lakes, mass transit schedules, list goes on
  19. James Woods did that, no one did anything
  20. I agree with the non-frankenfish, but it still is an adaptable species for water conditions, has few predators, and takes some of the food from other fish. Not something you'd want to overrun.
  21. According to Virginias game and fish:
  22. Look for an in-car rod rack, or make one I can fit up to 7'6" rods in my little suv and no room is wasted
  23. Regardless of taste, my wife had a blast reeling him in while using spinning gear
  24. What was bad about the surgery? Doctors usually say two things to kids with fractures, you're lucky you can walk after this and the arthritis bit at a certain age so take care of it. If there's a gander mountain near you look for the st croix premiers, they sometimes have them for $80
  25. That's for the identification. As for any sound, there was none. When we got it up from the water he didn't flop around and was quiet, like he played dead
