  1. ^x2^ subtle camo pattern on the back and the belly scales form lines. you can also look for a tooth patch on the tongue and when their mouth is closed their jaw doesn't come past the back of their eye.

  3. where do you fish? what is it going on?
  4. yep i use spray spf 50. i just make a fist before i spray and dont get in on my palms.
  5. for our creek fishing adventure this weekend. i carried a large waterproof tray loaded with all my tackle. had my cell phone in a waterproof case. i had all that in a backpack that was strapped in behind my seat where i could reach it. i had my wallet, keys, first aid kit and a few other thing in a 10L dry bag below deck. i made me some of these out of a pool noodle. i only carried one rod. http://www.basspro.com/Blakemore-Rod-Floaters/product/16517/ i flipped 3 times and still in rapids over the weekend and still had all my stuff.
  6. ascend fs128t. im 240 and can stand on my brother in law's ascend no problem.
  7. it was a lot of fun. we did two float trips on two different creeks this weekend. saturday we went 12 miles and sunday afternoon we went 4 miles. before i went out i did this. storage is good. original seat is crap. it drafts super shallow i was floating over sandbars i could reach down and touch. i did not try to stand. it might could be done but it is not the most stable craft. it paddles pretty easy and trackes straight. it fits my needs perfet, but i wanted a small water boat for creeks and rocky rivers and rapids. my brother in law has the ascend fs128t the fs12t big brother. he can stand and walk back and forth on his. it is much better suited to bigger slow water fishing. from what you describe your needs i think it would be the best match.
  8. i am taking my eagle out for its maiden voyage tomorrow will give you feedback.got it on sale for 399. also http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/perception-sport-pescador-12-sit-on-kayak/pid-981956?color=Red%2fYellow&N=670787849
  9. going to be rigging this up tommorow
  10. 12lb blue cat that crushed a spinnerbait.
  11. Dicks has dropped the field and stream eagle talon 12 to $400.
  12. My brother in law has a ascend 128 I have fished out of a few times. It is not too bad of a transition. main thing is keeping your tackle simple. It has a sleath feel to it you don't get in a boat.
  13. youtube has reviews that can give better answers. two vertical rod holders behind and one pivoting in front of you. decent storage. i dont have any fishing feedback, just bought it and put it in the barn till work slows down. comes with a folding achor and rope too.
  14. dicks sports is dropping the field and stream talon 12 from their store. its not even online anymore. they were $150 off till saturday. mine was $440 out the door.
  15. he said $2k would be a huge success. as soon as i get the details ironed out i plan to start asking around for a few business sponsors to help us get a guaranteed pot so worst case scenario the charity doesn't lose money. i like the merchandise and raffle idea. i can think of several local businesses that would probably help. i was thinking big fish payout would be 50%. i was figuring 50% of boats buying into it. at $20 and 50 boat thats $500. split that 50/50 with the pot and charity. assuming 50 boats enter and 25 buy into bigfish and doing %50 payout. the payout you posted raises $1400 before any corporate help which would be gravy. i have no idea what to expect as far as bigfish buy in.
  16. i have a friend who works for a charity. he approached me about doing a fundraiser tournament for them. the charity runs a home in Honduras that helps girls that were trafficked and exploited. they also do prevention education. a local trail director has agreed to help with the weigh-in,rules and launch. he said that 50 boats is a good goal to shoot for. what i am trying to figure out is fee's and payout. the guy helping suggested $100 entry fee and a separate big fish pot. reasonable? i was thinking $20 for BF with the chance to $200-250. would you buy into that pot? the next thing to figure is payout. again the guy helping suggested a big first prize like $2k to draw people in. I done some looking at other non fundraiser tournaments. they seem to normally payout 1 spot for 5 boats is 1 spot for 10 ok for a charity event? i was thinking.... 1.2000 2.1000 3.500 4.300 5.200 does this sound good? any feedback is appreciated
  17. truthfully i get skunked a lot alone because that is when i break out new stuff. on those days im out to catch fish how i want to not the best way possible. i dont work a piece of cover as hard with a 2nd guy. try to leave them a chance. i also hate when i get on a pattern and the back boater cant match it and starts getting frustrated. out for fun i will usually relent and go searching for something we both can do. in tourn. they just get to be my net man.
  18. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/attwood-lock-n-pin-3-4-manually-adjustable-pin-post/pid-10761?N=842564553&Ntt=post&Ntk=All you also have a spring underneath the seat itself adding 2''-3''. my dad is 5'5'' his post is set lowest and i removed the spring so the seat goes in further.
  19. get a wide a boat as possible. minimum 48" in the floor. that is the narrowest that is recommended for decking. i would go jap on the outboard.
  20. i would just look at the gps on my phone when i got there
  21. those work good in urban ponds where you can get wifi. out in the country reception may not be good.
  22. have caught bass, cats, brim, drum, gar, whites, and of course croppie on croppie jigs.
  23. i have bluewater leds and love them. green on the decks. white in the livewell, compartments and on the trailer. red is supposed to not mess with your night vision, but i always felt like i was struggling to see with red flashlights. i went with green as it is the easiest color for your eyes to see(why nightvision goggles are green). white in the compartments helps you see colors. i put them on the lids so i can leave the hatch open and tie up under them.
