  1. I'm in northern IL (Fox Chain). I'm heading out this afternoon. I've been getting them in shallow areas, very shallow (2-3ft) that have secluded thick clumps of weeds. Drag it through and when it breaks free. Boom! (Ned Rig) Also a frog on the edges of floating duck weed. Going to try drop shot by some off shore white bass schools I found. Hoping the bigguns are hanging nearby them.
  2. Love my Ulterra! To be more specific.. The power trim on it is a life saver for me. So many shallow channels here and i can raise it higher when needed it.
  3. I've had mine for 2 seasons now. Best investment on a trolling motor I've made! I have it on the Ulterra.
  4. I have signed up for the 2016 BBWC. Have to catch the biggun' in either IL or WI!
  5. Once the air temp drops below the water temp Don't quote me on that though. I remember Zona saying "Football season means football jigs". I always related that to the start of the transition too.
  6. Hey everyone, I'm planning a trip in mid September to Florida, Kissimmee area. Anyone from around that area know of any bass guides that might have a pontoon boat for a wheelchair? Would need a guide that has a boat that could handle me in the chair and then 2 other people Thanks in advance!
  7. I can not wait to get my first one submitted. Finally some decent weather starting Wednesday!
  8. Learn fishing from a boat and breaking down a lake to the best potential locations on a given day.
  9. Awesome. Thanks for the heads up!
  10. I'm really about to lose my mind haha. It's getting so close to thaw out!
  11. I just got a peg board and hooks (hangers) from menards =0) board: http://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/panel-products/specialty-panels/handi-panels/1-8-x-2-x-4-pegboard-panel/p-1470077-c-13340.htm (they have different sizes) hooks: http://www.menards.com/main/doors-windows/exterior-doors/garage-doors/garage-outdoor-organization/wall-mounted-storage/2-straight-storage-hook/p-1465611-c-12657.htm (they have different lengths etc)
  12. 1.) Know the feeding routes at your favorite lake. 2.) Know what time they start feeding and stop feeding. 3.) Use bigger lures and be patient.
  13. I work double hours it seems like. More spending cash for fishing season =0)
  14. Yeah it's fun. Easy way to keep track of lures I'm short on too =0)
  15. Z-Man finesse worm 4" is what I catch the majority of my dropshot fish on. It floats perfectly on the hook.
  16. Here are my rods and reels and my grab n go wall =p My newest setup just got it yesterday. Chronarch 150 ci4 with a bps carbonlite 6'9 mhxf
  17. Superflukes do the trick for me also!
  18. This would be my first year attending! Can't wait.
  19. For sure! Thanks for all the info! It's actually a 2012 model I'm buying new so it was only $900 more than a z-6. Now I just need to decide if I'm going through State Farm (my car insurance is with them) or somewhere else. I saw in a previous thread you have "full replacement coverage". Mind if I ask about how much a year than runs you?
  20. Decided on a Nitro z-7
  21. Thanks Slone! I am not set on new but would prefer it. Mostly because of warranty also. Are most tournaments ok with a 115? I would imagine a 115 is enough to get me started in the local tournaments.
  22. Hey everyone! I'm finally taking the plunge and making an investment in a boat! I have a couple of questions and maybe you all could help me out with suggestions? I am limiting my budget to $23,000. I would like to do FLW tournaments but their minimum motor requirement is 150hp and I am having trouble finding something in my price range with a 150. So far I've looked at and like these boats Nitro z-6 Stratos 186xt Lowe 18 hp So far I like the Nitro and Stratos purely because of their contingency programs. I like that the lowe is aluminum. Is the FLW very strict on the 150 hp rule? If you know of any other boats I should check out please let me know! Also FLW tournaments aren't a must but I thought it would be cool and fun.
  23. Shakyhead is the only thing I'm getting bit on the past few days after the front also. Lighter the better with a 5" zoom finesse worm.
