  1. I sure do. I have spotted some bedding LGMouth bass aorund 7-9 pounds, that is really big for here. I just hope no hits them before the tourney starts.
  2. Hi everyone, I am from Rochester, NY. If anyone knows a BASS club up my way send me a PM. I like to fish, but i am just starting to get more involved in the sport. Also to meet new people and to become a better fisherman. And then enter some tournements. I love the site. There are alot of informative opinions on this site. Male. 33yrs single.(most likely because i fish and golf alot lol) Cyas around the site Jason
  3. I am not sure if anyone would agree with what i do sometimes. I add weight to my frogs and rats. A splitshot or 2 inside the body keeps the frog lower in the water or weeds you are fishing. This has help me get better hook set ratios and i see less of my frogs getting pushed in the air. This works for me when it seems like they just want to bump it. Jigfshn10 is right. If you get a blow up stop. do a few twitches, pause twitch, repeat a few more time and then cast right back over that area.
  4. Berkley has 3 rods that are pretty good at that price. The cherrywood, Amp, and Lightning Rod. All are at or under $50 Also check craiglist for better quality used rods at great prices. I have picked up rods that are $100-$150 for as low as $35-$50. But just make sure you check them out to be sure that are in working condition.
  5. Well i did buy two of them, I bought the 3000 exceler and a 2000 exceler HA. Someone put the HA on the self with the $39.99 price on it. I guess i got lucky cause that version wasnt on sale. Now i can wait to go fishing next weekend. Just got the boat running and cleaned out yesterday. Thanks for the info guys.
  6. I use Spinning gear for everything...but that is because i still have mastered a baitcast reel. Call me Mr. Rat Nest.
  7. I found 3 types: (Spinning reels) Daiwa exceler-HA 3+1 CRBB $75 Bass Pro Daiwa exceler-TSH 4+1 CRBB $110 Bass pro and then there is the Gander Mountain sale Special: Daiwa Exceler 7 Ball Bearings retain $79 on sale for $39 My question: IS the exceler that is for sale at gander mountain any good and is it comparible to the Daiwa Exceler HA? Cause i cant find this version of the reel in any other store. Here is the Link http://gandermountain.shoplocal.com/gandermountain/Default.aspx?action=browsepagedetail&storeid=2401008&rapid=1143225&pagenumber=7&listingid=-2084326834
  8. Great info guys, Sahara and the exceler is what i will probably buy. Any info on the Bass pro spinning reels( Pro qualifier,Extreme)?
  9. But is the exceler a baitcaster or Spinning, I have only spinning rods. I havent come close to mastering a baitcaster yet. i rat nest every other cast and i get frustrate and put it away. lol
  10. What is the best crankbait spinning reel in the price range of $50-$100. I have a very limited budget. I am putting it on a Berkley Lightning rod shock. And what should be an ideal Line recovery rate on the reel?
