  1. I am not really sure why they are dropping the prices. Maybe inventory was just way too high.
  2. lol Between you guys on here and my buddies, we knocked a giant dent in Cabela's inventory. I am talking like hundreds of baits were bought. That is the cheapest I had ever seen a Lucky Craft bait, even on Ebay.
  3. Were they out of much yet? I know they were out of that Brownie color that looked cool.
  4. I don't have any of those Slim Shad D-7's, you'll have to let me know how they are.
  5. You are welcome guys. I honestly wouldn't have know that they dropped the price to $4.99 if my friend hadn't of texted me to let me know because I had just told him they were marked down to $6.99 yesterday. You are right, they are a good jerkbait but they also work well as a crankbait too.
  6. I have caught fish on the Live Pointer, albeit not as many as the regular Pointer. If there are any left, those Bevy Shads are some fish catching machines too.
  7. My pockets aren't that deep. What all did you get?
  8. You are the 2nd person this week to tell me about that place. It sounds pretty cool.
  9. Moderators you can take this down if it violates a rule. But just so everyone knows, Cabela's has a pile of Lucky Craft baits Right Here for only $4.99 I have no clue how long this sale is going to last. They were $8.99 yesterday or the day before, then $6.99 and tonight my buddy texted me and told me they were only $4.99 I imagine they will sell out pretty fast at that price. Anyway, thought I would pass that along.
  10. I "mostly" use 5" and 7" Senkos. There are times where I will use other sizes but the majority of the time 5" and 7" are my go to sizes.
  11. I have a funny story for you. This is about crankbaits, not soft plastics. One day several years ago, I was fishing with one of my buddies (who for the sake of this story is a very large dude that looks like the big guy off the movie the Green Mile. One of his nicknames was actually "Green Mile"). We were fishing on the Mississippi river in an urban environment. I, being sponsored by Lucky Craft, was throwing a $15 crankbait and he was using crankbait that his wife got him in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart for less than $1. It was the most generic looking bait I had seen in years. That dude caught bass after bass and I barely caught anything. Finally after a while he looks at me and says "JT, these are Ghetto Bass. They don't like your upper class crankbaits." A couple of weeks later we were out fishing again, but this time at a lake far from the city. I was throwing a Chart/Blue Lucky Craft CB200 and he was using his bargain bin bait. Only this time I was just destroying him and he never got a bite. Remembering what he had said to me before I said "Listen dude, these are upper class bass, they don't like your ghetto ***." We had a good laugh and he ended up getting skunked that day. He actually got skunked most days that he went to that lake. He always said it was because the fish there were racist.
  12. I have fished on with 5 Yamamoto D Shads on it. It was one heavy setup by the time I was done. In reality I don't fish A rigs very much at all because they are illegal in most places anywhere near where I live.
  13. I was just thinking about this same subject literally 2 minutes ago. I saw a YouTube video where they were crushing the Bass on red crankbaits. I got to thinking about 10-15 years ago when I used to catch tons of bass on red crawdad colored crankbaits and now I don't even have one in my boat. It's been several years since I threw one. My only reasoning is we just have way too many choices to pick from. Probably why I haven't thrown a spinnerbait in a few years either.
  14. I wondered if that Bassmaster Live coverage from the classic would generate some talk about this subject. Interesting to see how dialed in those guys were on subtle things like the skirt material.
  15. hahaha now that is funny. When you fish a jig enough, you can notice that slightest changes. One time I had a dude with me and I was fishing a jig and something just felt weird. So I fired off a major league hookset and reeled in a 4" Bluegill. The guy I was with said how the heck did you feel that thing? I told him I didn't feel the fish hit, I just knew that my jig felt different. #TimeOnTheWater
  16. Cool man! Those suckers were ready to eat.
  17. Nice fish, awesome job.
  18. I mounted a GoPro to the bottom of my boat last year or the year before when I went to a super clear lake. The footage didn't really capture anything but it almost reminded me of the footage you see of the ocean with the grass moving very slowly with the motion of the water. There was one bluegill that was very interested in the blinking lights on the camera and he came right up to investigate. In case you are wondering how I did it: I used the big GoPro suction cup mount and stuck it up under the hull. Then I secured it to my boat with 50# Test Hi-Vis PowerPro just in case the suction cup came loose. I only had it under there when I was on the trolling motor. It will fall off if you get going any faster than that.
  19. Let me start by saying, I do not work for and am not sponsored by this company. I needed to order some new seats for my Triton (because apparently it is too hard for people to use the step. I reached out to customer service at BassBoatSeats.com You couldn't have asked for a more friendly and helpful person to deal with. I ended up getting new seats way cheaper than I could have had my old ones recovered. They shipped same day via FedEx and I will have them tomorrow. I think shipping is always free too. When I have a good experience like this, I like to spread the word. Definitely would recommend BassBoatSeats.com to anyone needing new boat seats. They also have carpet and on other boat repair items. JT Bagwell Ps: When they arrive, I will let you all know how the quality is.
  20. I used to do this back when I was a teenager. I think I got the idea from either Bassmaster magazine or a fishing show. Regardless, it is a good idea.
  21. How do you see who is #1? I am guessing with my 90 subscribers so far, I have to be near the top (that's a joke).
  22. I teamed with Wiley X a couple of years ago after I heard about their dependability when dudes used them in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq. I have almost every pair that they make. While I cannot compare them to Costa or Maui because I have never owned them, I can tell you that I have owned several other brands and WX are definitely superior to them. The main differences are the fact that all Wiley X frames and lenses are impact rated (some even ballistics rated) so a 1/2 oz jig flying back and drilling you in the glasses is not going to destroy your eyeball like it would with some non impact rated glasses. Some styles even have a removable gasket that goes on the inside of the frames to keep, wind, light and debris from getting in your eyes. Their Filter 8 lense coating technology provides some great polarization. Here is a description of what that is. http://www.wileyx.com/technology/lens-performance/filter-8-polarized-lenses Wiley X goggles are also really awesome for those long boat rides when the wind, rain and bugs are smacking you in the face. Something that is big with me, that some of you may or may not care about but Wiley X is a military veteran founded, family owned and operated company. Probably my favorite pair out of all of them are the WX Saints. These are the glasses that Bradley Cooper (playing Chris Kyle) wore in the American Sniper movie. On a side note, for you guys that are looking for RX lenses, I would definitely get the WX Digital lenses. They are much more sharp and crisp than the non-digital lenses. I normally wear contacts and non RX glasses but I do have a pair of Wiley X P-17's with digital RX lenses and my kid has the Wiley X Youthforce glasses with digital RX lenses. Hope that helps. 23. I had one but I ended up selling it because I spent more time messing with it than I did fishing and unless the water is really clear, you can't really see much.
  24. I scanned the responses and didn't see this mentioned (but I may have missed it ) either way, to me one extremely important aspect of crankbait fishing is varying the cadence of the retrieve. Sometimes it may be speeding up that gets the reaction and other times it could be slowing down or stopping all together that does the trick.
