  1. I have several of the Pflueger Summits and I have never had any negative experiences at all (not even minor ones). My primary use for the Summit is as my main crankbait reel. It really fits nicely in my hand. You can get great casting distance and a super smooth retrieve without dropping major coin on a reel. JT Bagwell

  3. Dude I should have listened to you when you first told me this. I joined facebook a while back and it is way busier than myspace. Most of my graduating class is on there. I even saw some chicks on there that I had forgot I even dated. lol Apparently they didn't leave lasting impressions. The fishing groups on there seem ok too. JT Bagwell
  4. Yes, it always was a rule, but I just scanned the FLW and B.A.S.S. websites so I could copy and paste that rule and I didn't see it. I am not really sure why the rule was ever put in place. I could only speculate. JT Bagwell
  5. This thread is still generating some very interesting feedback. JT Bagwell
  6. I was fishing with FLW Tour Pro Tom Reddington and he turned me on to these at Lake Fork. They look awesome in the water. We used them on Lake Fork swim bait hooks and on Chatterbaits. After fishing all day, my friend and I headed over to Lake Fork Tackle and scouped some of the Live Magic Shads to bring home. Thanks again Ernie for staying open late so we could stock up on baits. 7. I don't know, I tried to get in as a Marshall for the tournament up here on the river I am on a waiting list because it was full. JT Bagwell
  8. It is obvious that I only fish the original Senko by Gary Yamamoto. No Knock-Offs for me. I have been on their Pro Team for 5-6 years now. I just saw in the Dick's Sporting Goods ad this morning that they have Gary Yamamoto Senkos for $5. I guess now would be the time for you guys to get hooked up and save a few bucks. JT Bagwell
  9. Yeah it was definately a fun trip. I really think if that cold front would have stayed up here in the North, the fishing at Fork would have been a heck of a lot better. At least we got to fish though. A lot of our water is still frozen here. JT Bagwell
  10. Yes, you are correct, He did tell me that it starts thursday. I never know what day of the week it is. lol JT Bagwell
  11. I don't play that, but why? Is he winning? JT Bagwell
  12. I sure wish I was back down in Texas right now. Currently at my house it is 18 degrees with 30+ mph winds. It SUCKS!!! JT Bagwell
  13. I think you will be fine with the same 6'10" Team All Star Pitchin' rod that I mentioned previously. Typically if you find a rod you like at a local store, they will let you put a reel on it to see how it feels before you purchase it. JT Bagwell
  14. For Pitching I use the 6'10" Team All Star Pitchin' (Heavy) rod. I am only 5'9" and this rod is the perfect length for me. The reels I use are the Pflueger Supreme and the Pflueger Patriarch filled with 50 lb or 65 lb PowerPro. I leave the reels on "Free Spool" the majority of the time. The KVD video is great for some basic instruction, but no video can compare to practice. I am very proficient at pitching because I spent hundred of hours in the basement at my old house just practicing. I had a nice obstacle course designed to help with skipping under low objects and other things for practicing pitching between things. I actually had a guy tell me last week that I was probably the best caster he has ever fished with. This really meant a lot to me because he has fished with professional guides and Elite Series Pros. The amount of time I spend practicing is nuts, but it does pay off. JT Bagwell
  15. Thanks guys. We caught most of our fish on Jigs and Spinnerbaits. My jig was a regular flippin' jig and my buddy was throwing a Brovarney Swim Jig and did very well. The fish were on the edges of creeks just waiting for some warm weather so they could move up to the shallows. JT Bagwell
  16. The only part that I hated about the trip was leaving. The closer we got to home, the more frozen water we started to see. There was even some snow left in the ditches and along the tree lines. JT Bagwell
  17. I get my shirts from Gemini (see picture below) and the only time you need permission from a company to use their logo is if Gemini doesn't already have the logo on file. I had to provide 1 logo and that was the only one that I had to have permission from the company to allow Gemini to put it on my shirt. Overall the shirts are nice. I would say unless you are getting paid to wear the logo, don't waste money on at $120 jersey. I wear the long sleeved shirts because you have more ad space and also it cuts down on sun exposure. 18. Guys, I just got back from a quick trip to Lake Fork with one of my buddies. While we were there, we teamed up with Bass Resource member, FLW Tour Pro and Lake Fork Guide Tom Redington. We had a blast on the water. The first two days were pretty chilly, but day three was warm. In our first 2 hours on the water we had 3 fish over 6 lbs, 3 fish over 7 lbs and plenty of 4's and 5's. The biggest fish of the trip was caught by my friend JJ, it went 9 lbs 2 oz. If I remember correctly, we each only had 1 fish that was under 4 lbs the whole trip. If you are ever down at Lake Fork and need a guide, definately get a hold of Tom Redington. Below is a picture of the first fish I caught on day 1 at Lake Fork. I think it was 35 degrees outside at the time. JT Bagwell
  19. You are 100% correct. My house is close enough to pool 16 that I can hear the roar of outboards and the slapping of the hulls on the water (about 2 blocks). Each year the spring floods completely change the bottom contour and the depths (especially in the backwater areas). Your best bet is to get a navigational map, use aerial photos and go driving around during your prefish time. JT Bagwell
  20. Hi Kent, What are the dates from the KY Lake trip? I seriously doubt I can make it, but it is worth a try. Man that is a long boring drive from my house too. lol It's about 8 or 9 hours of nothing to look at all the way there. JT Bagwell
  21. Very good point. I didn't switch out my hooks either. They were pretty decent right out of the package. JT Bagwell
  22. It doesn't feel like winter is ever going to end here in Northern Illinois. We have a winter storm moving in tonight and I have a cold that is trying to get me. Hopefully in 10 days when I am at Lake Fork in Texas, it will be a lot warmer. JT Bagwell
  23. I wear Swans sunglasses that are available to me through Yamamoto. The lense color that I prefer is called Copper. Whether they are the best colored lenses to use I do not know (I am not really an expert), but they dramatically helped my vision on the water. JT Bagwell
  24. I have several dozen of the Kinami hard baits and I can not think of any negative issues that I have ever had with them. Their colors are nice too. JT Bagwell
  25. Matt, I signed up so I could try to find people from High School and stuff like that. You forget about a lot of people if you don't see them in years. JT Bagwell
