  1. I don't really need anything but I am going to Wal-Mart tomorrow just to see if I can score a deal like yours.
  2. Really what you need to consider is what feels comfortable to you. I personally use a 6'11" Heavy All Star rod. Pay attention to the handle. Sometimes the handles on the 7' are much longer than the 6 1/2' so you don't really gain a lot. I would definately look at a Heavy rod before you purchase a Medium Heavy. You might be a lot happier.
  3. Yeah often watch the kids class before the adult BJJ session. It is awesome.
  4. This is me!!!
  5. I actually have a lake that I catch a lot of big Bass at but almost never catch anything there on a jig (and jigs are my go-to bait). Over the years I have caught a handful there on jigs but not very many. I actually catch a much higher number of fish there on Senkos than I do at any other lake too. It is definately what I would call a Senko lake, any size, any color. It's funny how that stuff works.
  6. GSP is my favorite fighter but I love watching any of them. As of recently I have only been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Pat Miletich's gym so I am more into watch the guys that are BJJ experts. Those pics that were posted earlier are the first and only time I have thought Cyborg actually looked like a chick.
  7. Any of you guys MMA fans? I love the UFC and most of the smaller shows on AXSTV. Also love watching Muay Thai kickboxing.
  8. I live near the Mississippi river and I avoid it like the plague in the winter. You can however catch Bass (smallmouths) below some of the spillways and dams. You can also find Largemouths in some of the backwaters that get direct sunlight and warm up first. Overall though, fishing has always been crazy tough for me out there.
  9. Not sure how it is now but a few years ago it was almost impossible to do any kind of business with Shimano. That is how it got with PowerPro after Shimano bought them too.
  10. You can pick up a few tips here and there online but at the end of the day, time on the water will be what helps you perfect the technique.
  11. Welcome. What part of Iowa are you in?
  12. Thanks everyone, glad to be back. Illini, I have known Ritch for a lot of years. I practically lived at his wife's house when I was teenager. I hung out with her kids and was there so much that she always threatened to claim me on her taxes. Good people right there.
  13. This was one of my most productive baits last year. I fish them with a 4" Yamamoto Swim Senko for the trailer. My hookset when using these is almost identical to my hookset when fishing a crankbait. You fire on them too hard and the hook flies out.
  14. I have been doing some fishing and top secret ninja training. lol
  15. RW I should have known you would still be hanging around this place. Glad to see you are still alive and well. lol
  16. Hello all of my Bass Resource friends. It has been a little bit since I posted but I just wanted to say hi to everyone.
  17. Howdy. I live up in Geneseo, IL.
  18. I have always love the Red Shad Power Worms. I actually just order the 10" and 12" Power Worms today in Red Shade and Black Grape. Can't wait for the weather to break so I can get back out on the water.
  19. Working out will most definately help you on the water. I train several days per week. I do cardio, weight lifting (high reps/light weight), weight lifting (low reps/heavy weight), stretching and Mixed Martial Arts. The more physical training you do, the easier fishing all day long will be. Eating healthy is also very important. I try to limit the amount of unhealthy food I eat. I take 1-3 Max Muscle Whey Protein shakes per day. Don't wait until it is too late. Try to get healthy now. Unfortunately working out won't make the fish bite.
  20. LOL I train at his gym and I already told him that he may beat my a** in the gym but I will beat his a** on the water. He said not to ever underestimate a guy who grew up with a cane pole in his hands. I guess we will see. lol Can't believe that out of the thousands of members on here, nobody has a celebrity fishing story. JT Bagwell
  21. Who is the most famous (non fishing pro) that you have ever fished with? I got a text the other day from former UFC Welterweight Champion and current Strike Force commentator Pat Miletich asking when we are going fishing. While I know a couple of semi-famous non-fishing related celebrities, I think Pat might be the most famous fishing partner once we go fishing. JT Bagwell
  22. I took my uncle out fishing with me one day and he tossed a plastic worm next to a stump. He felt a tap, set the hook and snapped his line. Almost immediately I threw a jig at the same stump and the bait got crushed as soon as it hit the water. I flipped the little 14" Bass into the boat and my uncle jokingly asked if I saw a Red Shad Power Worm in the fishes mouth. Right then, the Bass shook his head and a Power Worm landed in the floor of my boat. I looked at my uncle and said "You mean that Red Shad Power Worm?" We both just cracked up laughing in amazement. We still talk about that fish sometimes. JT Bagwell
  23. Thanks all. I have just been super busy in life as a whole. I just finished a 4 year term on the City Council. Back into training Muay Thai and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu at the Miletich Training Center. Plus fishing and hanging with my 2 sons. I hope you all are doing well and I will talk to you soon. JT Bagwell
  24. Good leave, I never liked you much anyway. LOL Just kidding brother. Glad to see you are still doing well old timer. I know you do a lot to help others catch fish. Keep up the good work. Your Best Looking Friend (possibly your only friend) JT Bagwell
