  1. I have to admit, I only saw the first episode as a screener and I thought it was funny. I forgot to set my dvr to watch the rest of the episodes. Guess I don't need to waste my time. Thanks guys.
  2. New Product Review http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/bloody-shad.html
  3. Glad you liked it, thanks. Hopefully they can get some of these over too you.
  4. I think it is pretty common knowledge that I am a jig guy. I love fishing jigs. I love the fact that I can skip and pitch them into areas that most guys could only do while they were sleeping (ie dreaming). Did I mention that I love fishing jigs (especially Siebert Outdoors jigs = shameless plug for a board sponsor)? lol With all that being said, I read a lot of posts on here, Facebook, Twitter, etc where anglers are talking about how much they struggle with fishing jigs. So do you struggle with fishing jigs or are you a jig angler too? If so, what is it that you feel is the reason you struggle with them?
  5. I love all of my Glocks. (9mm, 40 S&W and .45) Unfortunately I live in Illinois and we still can't legally carry them. Lucky for me I know some Jiu Jitsu and Kick Boxing. lol
  6. Thank you Felix. And you are absolutely correct and that is a very good point. Never thought about the co-angler aspect.
  7. I will be honest with you guys. I don't even know the answer to my own question yet. It sure has me thinking though.
  8. Thanks guys. Glad to be on a site with so many cool people (even Glenn)
  9. lol Some of you guys crack me up. Part way through this post I learned that I have reached my positive feedback limit for the day because I hit like too many times.
  10. I really don't think it makes much difference. However, if it was a tough day and I was fishing shallow water, I probably wouldn't do it. Other days I think music helps get your mind right.
  11. Here is a link to my newest article on the home page. It talks about how paying attention on the water can really improve success. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Bagwell/catch-more-bass.html
  12. What is the single item that you would never go on a fishing trip without? (I don't mean your boat, fishing license and the obvious things) I am not really sure what mine is but I will do some thinking and post it later.
  13. Nope, you didn't miss it. I just had the opportunity to view the episode before it airs. I believe the Air date will be August 6th. Episode number 1 was pretty funny and I was told, by someone that works with the History channel, that is just gets crazier from there. That Shelby dude is hilarious in a twisted kind of way.
  14. I was able to watch the first episode tonight and it is pretty funny. Shelby is quit the character to say the least.
  15. I need to try these things. I am not a swimbait guy but I keep thinking about trying them.
  16. I am getting to where I throw 7" Yamamoto Senkos more than any other size. They are big baits but I don't think I get any less fish on them. Coming in 2nd is the 5" size. I never go smaller than 5" and for some reason I almost never throw a 6" Senko. Definitely a boring looking bait that does AWESOME!
  17. Congrats to board sponsor, Siebert Outdoors. I got a Facebook message yesterday from a guy that bought some Siebert Outdoors jigs because he read a post I made about them. He had just won the tournament he was fishing and was so excited to tell me that his fish came on Siebert Outdoors jigs. So if you haven't checked them out, you are missing out on some awesome jigs.

  18. How has the fishing been for everyone this week? Today (Sunday) was ok but I got no big ones. I ended up with 18 Bass, most were keepers but biggest was only 3 lbs. Almost all of my fish came on crankbaits in grass that was 3-8' deep. The rest came on Yamamoto D Shads and Senkos. Friday was awesome. I had well over 50 Bass and 17 were the in the 2 lbs to 4 lbs range. The biggest was 4 lbs 3 oz. I caught so many fish that my thumbs were raw and starting to bleed. The fish were absolutely crushing almost every bait I put in front of them. They were almost completely swallowing the Siebert Outdoors Swim Jigs (Bluegill color and Bloody Shad color) with Swim Senko trailers, they were blasting crankbaits, Double Swim Senko rigs, I got a few on frogs in the slop, got a few on Siebert Outdoors Elite Series jigs, Carolina rigged Yamamoto Lizards, Yamamoto Flappin Hogs, 7" Senkos and vibrating jigs. They were eating so much stuff that I am sure I forgot something. It seemed like whenever I thought they were done biting, I would turn around and get another decent fish and the frenzy started again. Two tips I have to share with everyone is don't be scared to throw something different. Keep trying everything because you never know what might work on a particular day. And make sure you have good sunglasses. The glare was so bright off of the water that without good polarized glasses you wouldn't be able to see the clumps of grass in the deeper water. Plus I think the sun in your eyes would give you a headache after a while. The pair I had on Friday was the Wiley X Twisted and today I was using the Wiley X Rush. I know some people don't believe sunglasses play that big of a roll in fishing but I really don't think I would have caught as many fish without them because I would be casting blind. It was key to see where the grass clumps were at. Non-polarized glasses just don't give you the same clear vision. So how was your week and what worked best for you?
  19. Always double check your knot. It doesn't matter if you have tied the same knot 10,000 times, double check it. It only takes one time of making a mistake to cost you the fish of a lifetime. While on the water yesterday I was throwing a Siebert outdoors bloody shad swim jig and set the hook on a good fish. Just as the fish came to the surface, it came off. At first I thought it broke my line but upon further inspection I realized I had not tied my knot properly. That is a mistake that I have only made a couple of times in my life but yesterday it cost me a decent fish and a sweet swim jig.
  20. Those Yamamoto swim senkos are a very useful tool that is for sure. You can use them on a Siebert Outdoors Swim jig, a spinnerbait, a chatterbait, on an Alabama rig, on a drop shot, as a soft jerkbait or as a trailer on one of Siebert Outdoors Elite series jigs. They are just a multi-faceted trailer and an all purpose bait.
  21. lol No worries, I was just making excuses for my lack of participation.
  22. You got it!!!
  23. The one in the picture in my post is a 5" Yamamoto single tail grub. I also use a 4" Yamamoto Swim Senko on them. Those are the only trailers I have been using on it so far and they have worked well.
  24. I am with Jay on the hook change. Like he also said, you could switch to a wacky rig too. I always see posts like this where people are talking about catching fish on a Senko but they get tore up. It is like collateral damage in my opinion. You are meeting your objective which is catching fish but the bait gets killed in the process.
  25. Got word this morning that the Bloody Shad Swim Jig from Siebert Outdoors that I have been using and talking about for a couple of months is now on their website. Check it out, it's an awesome Swim jig. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/index.php/elite-g-swim
