  1. Leave them alone and give them their space and you will be ok. The geese on the other hand, are absolutely insanely unpredictable.lol SJ
  2. Very nice video, thanks. SJ
  3. If your going for a rod 7' or longer then the Cumara CUS72MH would be the best choice in my opinion. SJ
  4. The Avid 70MHF is a great rod, it is a little under rated power wise. It is closer to a Heavy then a Medium Heavy, the rod should work perfect for what you plan on using it for. SJ
  5. KVD L&L is the best, been using it exclusively for the past three years. I like it a lot better then the Ardent or Reel Magic. SJ
  6. X2, the Owner swimbait hooks are great. SJ
  7. #2 and I would try beaver style baits, jigs, swim jigs, spinner baits, square bill crank and old reliable shakey head. SJ
  8. The Advantage is a very nice spinning reel. The sealed drag is great and the reel is very smooth and reliable. SJ
  9. You are more then likely going to want either the CRSX68M or CRS70MH, the 2 rods you mentioned will be alright if that is the only 2 you can get at that price. If not I would look at the 2 I mentioned. They are great rods and you will not be disappointed with Crucial rods. SJ
  10. Berkley Chigger Craws and Crazy Legs Chigger Craws are both great baits. But use what you are confident with. SJ
  11. They are ok, not as great as I thought they would be. SJ
  12. My favorite is a swim jig or a spinner bait, but I prefer the swim jig. 5/16 to 3/8oz, I prefer white but use whatever your most comfortable with. SJ
  13. Caught a nice 8lbs fish last year, while trying to get my sons lure out of some brush he was holding my rod and he pushed the thumb bar and my jig fell straight down from the boat and he was just standing there when the big girl darn near pulled him in the lake. It scared the crap out of him and he threw the rod at me and I had to reel her in. Funniest thing I ever saw other then the time he caught a 4 foot copper head while being stupid!!lol That was funny!! SJ
  14. Goto BPS facebook page and enter for a chance to win a fishing trip with the man himself KVD. SJ
  15. I have used the Falcon Cara T7 Swim Jig Rod but I have not used the Powell rod. The Falcon is a nice rod but I have found a nicer rod and that is the Shimano Cumara CUCX72MH. It casts better and it is more sensitive and to me is just an all around better rod in my opinion. SJ
  16. Not sure how that Carbonlite rod feels but I use a Shimano Crucial CRC70MH and it feels like a broom stick. But it sounds like you are not getting the hook to penetrate her lip and possibly not keeping enough pressure on her and she is able to spit it out. What type of jig and size jig are you using. SJ
  17. I use NorthStar 1/4 and 5/16oz swim jigs in all white, sexy Shad and blue black herring. I like to use Kinami or Yamamoto 4 and 5 inch single tail grubs. I prefer to use blue pearl silver flake. I will also use Yamamoto swim senko in the same color. I have used twin tail Chompers grubs as well as other style crawdad style trailers, but I still prefer the single tail grub. I believe it just all comes down to personal preference and what you feel the most confident in. For me swim jigs have always been great producers. I have also found that throwing them like a jig and just letting them sit and then pop and reel and let it settle down also produces pretty effectively. I will fish them slowly over and through lily pads around timber, rocks etc... It doesn't matter to me I will throw them anywhere and anytime. SJ
  18. I would look into the Lews Tournament LFS Speed Spin TSS2000 spinning reel and a Shimano Crucial CRSX68M rod. I have this combo for fishing tubes, small worms, and small jigs and it is absolutely incredibly light and sensitive. SJ
  19. If I am using a trailer I don't use a stinger hook and with that said I very rarely use a trailer and pretty much always use a stinger hook. SJ
  20. In the $100 range then definitely the St Croix Mojo Bass rod MBS68MXF. SJ
  21. That was great, exactly what I needs to start this Thursday morning out on the right foot!lol SJ
  22. The Avid AVS68MXF or Shimano Crucial CRSX68M or Cumara CUSX68M would be great choices. SJ
  23. Try an all white swim jig with a 4 or 5 inch single tail grub. Swim jig in either 1/4 or 5/16oz. SJ
  24. Jig or a beaver are my 2 favorites. SJ
