  1. It's mostly on your fishing style. Cable for dock fishing, following weedlines, working pads. So everytime you step on the trolling motor you know were it's pointing. Electric are harder on batterys because you are using batterys to streer and run the motor. They have a flatter foot petal but you need to look at it for direction and if you leave your foot on it they spin around. They are great fishing large flats just aim Auto pilot and go and you can be anywhere in the boat. Most bass fishing is better with cable. Garnet
  2. I fish a lot of weeds so almost never tie a leader. Garnet
  3. Course non iodzed Salt. Garnet
  4. You need to give more info. Is it bow mount too glass or plywood covered in carpet, it's possible that plywood is rotten. Minn Kota have these funny washers with ears that like to break. Moto Guide have these rubber t's that are rocky. Garnet
  5. Garnet

    Tube Hook

Daihci Copper Head for all plastic. Garnet
  6. Ontario Bass Federation might have clubs in area. Garnet
  7. The main skill is to look at your target and let the bait go. After you get the accuracy then work on easing the bait into the water. Hitting a measured cup is trick casting....... you need a bunch of targets and hit them random. Also never make a cast with out picking your spot. Garnet
  8. Another thing these people can't get is the skill to catch way more than nessary to eat. And that it's a learned skill. It's a what ever buddy have a nice day. Garnet
  9. You really shouldn't change much in the beginning. Back your drag off a little and fish away. The softer tip rod is going to help for all fishing. Even very light jigs you can see the rod flex everytime you move your bait. Of course when the rod over flexses or will not flex your reaction should be.............. Pick rods that still have some back bone..........I use Clarus. Garnet
  10. That means you have a hook problem and should contact your manufacture. Take a pair of plier and sqweeze. Garnet
  11. With Lowrance/Eagle if the plugs are the same color they match. Garnet
  12. I would get a 24 volt 80lb. Theres not much difference in Minn Kota and the touring Moto Guide. Garnet
  13. Ron was my tournament partner for 5 years in the early 90's. We had a lot of suuccess. He and I both continue to get better 20 years later. His T.V. personality is not that different from his having a beaverage and friends and thats better than fake. It's T.V. and fishermen I don't really see any truth. Garnet
  14. Don't do anything until the fish tell you. The truth is we are in some sort of a cold front most of the time. Then theres only 2 things faster or slower and some lakes are faster and some slower. Garnet
  15. I use a stainless bead above my tunston wieght for the tiny hole and a glass bead to protect the knot. And all of it to make a rattle that never falls off. This combined with a bobber stop makes a very versitile rig. Garnet
  16. I never attach a hand line. Undo everthing but the winch. Back down the ramp until the boat floats. Stick in park and undo winch unhook and jump in the front of boat. Reverse off the trailer and tie boat. Get your truck. The more wind and current the less trailer in the water. Most trailers are between the axle and 3/4 tire. Garnet
  17. I know the guy and you are right 6-5 and about right on the wieght. And I didn't think the fish was that big but a very nice fish. Garnet
  18. You could have 2 transduser hooked to a switch. Lowrance has them. Would be a pain but possible. Garnet
  19. Walleyes I know Oklahoma I don't. Theres 2 spawning groups, current spawners will run up creeks to a barrier and spawn there. Shoal spawners, areas of gravel and scattered small boulders and shallow water 4ft or less. They will spawn around trees and brush. They don't nest like bass they broadcast there eggs in areas. Jerkbaits will work more steady retreive with pauses, Jigs round head 1/4 with curly tails or minnow shapes Gulb ect. 3 to 5 inch. With your jig hit the bottom everytime. Cranks work stick to tight wigglers and long slender baits and keep them near the bottom. Garnet
  20. Way to much money. Get a piece of 1x3 about 2 ft long. Attach transducer to one end and get a c clap I've seen then in the buck store. Get to the lake c clamp board to transom and away you go. I did this for years with a home boat and a cottage boat. Garnet
  21. I use Flouro 8 & 10 on spinning. Be very sure to not over spool and spool up 4-5 days before fishing. If I'm changing line I do it on Mon. for that weekend. Garnet
  22. Jigs take lots of 1/4 round head Chartruse and pink and I like eyes on the jigs. Jig and live bait will be really popular. Ask your resort how deep the wallyes are if it's getting 20ft plus move up to 3/8. Curly tails white, chartruse, yellow. And the minnow shape plastic 4 and 5 inch. Gulp or Powerbait. I also use a lot of banna head bucktails black and yellow, Black, and black and any color. I've never fished Lake of the Woods it's 24 hrs from my house in southern Ont. and I can be in Florida in less time. But walleye fishing is walleye fishing. Everbody walleye fishs up there so it should be hard to get info. Garnet
  23. You should start with last years fishing get as much as possible down and move forward. Garnet
  24. Another thing I try to do is pay cash. Garnet
  25. Thats if you get good serivice good equipment and the trip you want. 20% Garnet
