Anyone make their own vibrating jigs and get a cease and desist letter? I read about it on another forum. How do other companies make vibe jigs? Do they pay chatterbait a portion of their sales?

Spros are awesome! No issues hooking up, keeping them buttoned, very durable. 50+ fish durable. Multiple times.

I have no issues hooking up with Spros. I don't fish any other brands. I do want to try the new Fred Roumbanis and Ish Monroe frogs. My father in law swears by Kopper's Live Targets.

The LT series is sweet. I only own the Tatula's, but have felt the Fuegos in store. I don't think you can go wrong with any Daiwa or Shimano over $40 right now. they are making some good product

Winner winner chicken dinner! Was trying not to push a new rod on tge OP. Glad someone else beat me to it. @ OP - go with your gut. If you frog a lot and heavier cover, you will want the rod that feels the best in your hands. I myself would go with the heavy, but I don't fish Abu rods. Others have stated that the MH fishes like a H. If thats true, then is it an 80/20 bend? If so, i would go with it. You want to have confidence that it can turn the fish and keep her from burying you during the fight. Frogging is not a any rod any price technique unless you hate it or dont like doing it. Finding 1 or 2 folks that believe that is anecdotal at best. That being said you don't need a Megabass Power Versatile either. $100 to 300 will get you a bad a $$ stick. Good luck

I'm sure this is a thread somewhere, but what are your favorite hook types for plastics? All rigs and why? I'm curious to which has the best hook up ratio for you. Thanks I use a straight shank for punching and wide gaps for all other rigs.

Irod Fred's Magic Stick in the Genesis 2 is a Heavy fast/moderate. I would say it's a fast. I just picked up the Air 754 and it's a Heavy Fast. The Air will get some time frogging this year.

Frogging most use the 735. You may be right on the one power heavier. I did a similar thing with Irod. But i owned a couple first. Good luck.

Seems like all metal or aluminum frame and metal component parts fans really stand firm when comparing to reels with graphite or "plastic" frames. Or components like the gear attached to the worm gear for that matter. Has anyone ever had a graphite frame or "plastic" piece fail while bass fishing? Proof would be great; like photos. Catching wipers, stripers, catfish, or muskie while bass fishing doesn't count if that is when it failed. From a feel aspect, I myself like the aluminum feel which is why I like OG Zillions and the new Fuego Cts. But have owned $50 to $550 reels and have never had one fail. So I dont see why its that big of a deal other than preference.

The OP is wanting to stay under 2oz. Magic Stick is perfect for what he's looking for.

My point is that it's easier to control the bait and depth with the 6.3. Gear ratio does matter, that's why it is easier to keep a buzzbait on top with a 7.3. Bring a chatterbait in on 8.1 and see the difference between that and 6.3. I would rather have a slower gear ratio than adjust my retrieve rate. Easier to control. I also typically use a split tail or fluke which would add little to no rise on the bait.

Irod Genesis II "Fred's Crank Launcher Jr". 763. Perfect rod for cranks up to 5xd IMO. Can handle 6XD but not my favorite if your cranking all day.

Was using a 7.3. Didn't like it. Changed to 6.3. IPT matters big time. I felt like it needs to be 24-27 IMO. My own issues were it was rising to fast and I felt like I had more control with the slower 6.3.

Can't go wrong with either. Buy both! Myself, I'm a Daiwa guy. Own a few SV's. Love them. Will be getting a few more.

Then why worry? Funny how guys were catching bass before all the tech and high dollar rods. If you like the Savvy then keep it. Or step up to the a higher end rod. My jig rod is a Genesis 2. I really like it. Use to use a Steez 7'1"H. Hated it, but others love it. To each his own.

Sometimes Daiwa uses grease and over-greases the spool bearings. I always take them out and clean them, remove grease if necessary, and apply a drop of oil before reinstalling.

Daiwa Fuego CT 7.3. Perfect reel and cheap.
