  1. Dont know about the negatives but it definitely helps the rig from getting snagged with weeds. I use the bass pro bobber stoppers and they work well. Plus they are really cheap
  2. I read somewhere, maybe here, that you can super glue the hole shut and then cut a little slit between the eyes to make it collapse easier. I have yet to try this but it seems like it would work. Hope this helps
  3. Just got the 1oz hack attack jig and it looks promising. Cant wait to use it on Guntersville this summer. A punch rig is a great idea too...i use a paycheck skirt with a 3/4 oz weight and a craw or beaver type bait. Anyone have any luck on the hack attack jig?
  4. dobyns 765 is an amazing rod. Its got a softer tip but is strong enough to yank em out of the weeds or whatever cover your fishing. I am pleased with this rod as i was hesitant to spend that kind of money on it, but now I get excited to use it everytime I fish
  5. Hope you enjoy it man! I know how your feeling right now! I just ordered a 765c and should be here on monday and I cant wait to try it out. Cant go wrong with a curado
  6. I was in the same boat as well. After much research and some help from David, I broke down and ordered a champion 765. Cant wait til it comes in! Hope you enjoy yours!
  7. great rod for the money imo
  8. As long as the rain isnt too bad, i love fishing in the rain. I use a topwater bait like a popper or a chug bug. If you dont mind getting a little wet then i would say go FISH!
  9. Catching bass on a frog is my favorite. My buddies and I have a friendly tourney every summer on Guntersville and it is awesome to watch a big bass explode on a frog. Nothin like catchin em on topwater!!
  10. I am a righty and i switch hands when i cast everytime. It just comes naturally. When I pitch and flip, I hold the rod in my right hand and lure/line in my left
  11. great advices from everyone. I have had the same problem fishing a frog over slop
  12. thanks for all the suggestions. I will be looking at the dobyns savvy and maybe a used gloomis
  13. was wondering the same thing. I am deciding between the powell max and dobyns savvy so i am interested to see what people say about these rods
  14. Hey yall, I am looking for an all in one rod for throwing frogs, jigs up to an oz and texas rigs. I mainly fish pretty heavy cover at Guntersville so I would like a rod that is sensitive yet powerful enough to yank em out of the grass. I was looking at the dobyns rods and the powells but dont know much about em. My price range is 150-200 but would like to stay in the lower end. Thanks in advance!
